Would be a very typical signing of us in this day - the sort that solidifies our position as a poor team. We can do better.

So did Ayoze (Or so it felt).... lol

But how people are turning their nose up at this just shows the snobbery and that I don't think anyone would be happy with anything we do or sign.

People need to wake up and realise how far we've fallen, accept it. They were happy to accept the glaring red flags and should have done something about it rather than claiming it was all fine! Too late to piss and moan about every single thing now.

That said i'd have been quite happy to take Almiron even when we were in our 'pomp', let alone now.

I agree with some people needing to get on board with where we are now, but you would have been happy with a guy in his late 20's who never scored or created goals, whilst we were at our peak?! Madness

If this is a loan, then maybe it's not the worst deal but absolutely no way if it's a permanent transfer.

Didn't realize his record was so crap lol

Genuinely thought that he was one of their main talisman.

This whole "this is where we are now" is a self-fulfilling prophecy. We are where we are now because of bad business. Don't do any more!

If we're backing Fatawu to recover, it probably isn't financially prudent to buy.

Could do worse as a realistic loan than Miggy with a point to prove tbh. Works his arse off in fairness.

I'd rather any money we have to spend go on defenders, a proper footballing 6 that can defend if that's what RVN wants and even an upgrade on Mavididi as a proper goal scoring wide forward for the left (or a quality attacking LB if we're persisting with that.)

Nobody is, I think we'd all take him over Ward right now but I doubt Liverpool are interested in letting him go tbh...

I wondered how long it'd be before someone made a funny about the misnomer. Congrats and a gold star.

People saying no to a loan like Almiron obviously havent watched us over the last 6 months, or are already smashed on the xmas booze.  Look at our squad, its pathetic!  Anyone with prem experience currently would be an asset to our team....

...except Danny Ward

I definitely, 100%, wouldn't buy him. Especially for near enough 10m.

Would be Ayew / BDCR levels of rubbish.

Would only be marginally positive about it if it was an extremely cheap loan for six months.

A bit confused as why anyone would say this is bad business on loan?!

A transfer would be madness but if it means we’re sending Edouard back to Palace it’s a good bit of business.

Partly the opportunity cost we would incur by spending wages and our second PL loan spot on someone who isn't particularly good, partly him being yet another signing who wouldn't necessarily improve our first team, partly him being another wide player whose game is more about work rate than goals or creativity when we already have Ayew, Reid and McAteer. He is probably better than the last of those but I wouldn't say there's any real reason to think he's an improvement on the first two or on Buonanotte.

Even in our current position I would really like to believe we can do better, which I accept might make me a fantasist but if the alternative is accepting this is the quality of signing we are pinning our hopes on then I would prefer to remain in my dream world.
