Obviously I don't know any more than anybody else, but it won't surprise me at all if we find out on Monday we've been charged with breaching PSR. If so I've n doubt we will exhaust every legal avenue available to challenge it, but the possibility remains that we will get a deduction this season. If so, we'll likely need to accumulate 40+ points to survive - doable, but only if Ruud turns things around. Quickly.

40 points is nowhere near doable, I'm afraid.

26 points from 18 games? Where are we getting 1.5PPG from when we're currently on 0.7?

It's far, far easier to lose form than it is to gain it.

What is this form thing you speak of?

Struggling to comply with completely arbitrary rules designed to make sure "we don't have too many Leicester Citys" is not the same as struggling financially.

Doesn't matter how much money Top or the club has if you aren't allowed to spend it.

Or just do what Forest have done, just say **** it, and make sure you build a team good enough to stay up.

Leicester is not a big club and we cannot generate the revenues as any of the big clubs. Yes some of it has been mismanagement both on and off the field, but the bottom line is this is not a fair playing field and the odds are increasingly stacked against clubs like Leicester. Just look at clubs like Brighton and Villa - yes they have had the odd 4/5th place finish, but reality is they won't be competing for trophies, now matter how "well run" they are - and each of those clubs just need one bad transfer window, and they'll fall.

We've massively overachieved the past decade. Part of me has to accept that the club gave it a go, but we now enter a new phase of seeing the club where we have always been.

Forest didn't do that, they were close to complying with psr, they breached because they sold Johnson a month too late to include in the accounts arguing it wasn't fair to force them to sell cheaper a month earlier

Some of it has been mismanaged? This opinion is wild. Whereas we’re not massive in size, we achieved the impossible and gave ourselves a massive platform to succeed. The mess we find ourselves in has nothing to do with the size of the club, it has everything to do with horrific management of the clubs accounts, and leaving amateurs to make big decisions.

Think it's not fair on the players to say we've over achieved. We were where we were through good scouting, good coaching, team spirit; where it went wrong is letting things go stale, crap contract negotiations, lack of forsight, standing still (hubris) whilst the rest of the league are motoring at million miles an hour.

This can happen but bigger clubs have finances to make mistakes, we don't.

Terrible post imo

Forest accepted it was worth the breach and take the points hit - they are now enjoying the perks of spending last season.

Increasingly I think clubs will look at this, do the maths and risk.

Breaching PSR and getting point deductions will sadly be a more common occurrence.

It wasn’t long a go they were being laughed at by fans on here for the scattergun approach and the “crazy power hungry” chairmen that was going to send the club into oblivion.
As for enjoying their spending last year and taking a hit, it was -€44m net last and currently this season -€18m

Depending on if KDH is on last seasons accounts, we are already - €80m

it was the first season they were promoted they took a massive gamble -€195m

It’s the same as he said, we overachieved based on our historic performance. It does not have to be an insult, just factual.

Their breach was minor and certainly not in the spirit of screw the rules. If they did go hell for leather they’d have gotten a much bigger deduction.

May I ask why? Just comes across as not liking what it says but are unable to rebuff.

Yup - it’s the same old ‘we were in league one once’ rebuttal. This club can be bigger and better if run properly. Simply saying we overachieved is massively defeatist and small minded imo. It’s the typical talksport response I wouldn’t expect from a Leicester fan

You literally have Bournemouth floating in the top half of the Prem. By size alone they’re League One/Two. But nobody overachieves at this level, you’re as good as the system you create. We had a system and we dismantled it all, for what? To stroke Brendan Rodgers ego?

Yes, on looking up the definition, perhaps that's right. Just always saw it being aimed at us as a put down. I think when we were aiming that top 6 status, part of it is about perception

Do not believe this is true at all. Yes we had a system that was working. Yes, Rodgers helped screw it up. But so did the financial crisis, the pandemic, etc.
Overachievement must be compared to something, and we did compared to our historic performance, this is beyond dispute, it’s evidential.

(Why do people find this so insulting? It should be a point of pride to rise beyond our previous standing)

Bournemouth is not a good example as they have done nothing. Clubs at this level are one incident away from demise, it’s just where this trigger comes from that varies.
