Yes but it was tight for JJ to clear the ball long. Ayew just stood there not anticipating what was going to happen then very slow in moving to the ball and ultimately got it nicked off him.

Would have at the start, but villa were quite poor and when we equalised we needed to be much braver and have a go as they would have been fragile in that moment.

Palace are a bang average team, as wolves were, and we know what happened there. I'm just not seeing the mentality (or ability) for us to do anything, against anyone, right now.

Good signings would help, but knowing us we won't get them.  Especially as we've gone from a team with a good chance of survival to one with a 20% chance. So even less likely anyone half decent wants to join us now.

Agree with that. Although to be fair standing out in this team is not thT difficult at the minute. He is quality though I just hope he can produce it more consistently if he gets a long stay in the team. Today he was not at his best.

They’re the only teams we’ve played in the league this season and didn’t concede at least two goals. We got 9 points out of 15.

Yep. If you concede 2 a game in this league, you are not getting many points, let alone wins. 

 

Conceding 2 or more in 15 of 20 games is catastrophically bad. Today, Villa were really poor and created virtually nothing until we threw everyone forward in the last 10 minutes. And yet still they scored 2 goals. 

 

Even if you look at the 5 games where we've conceded fewer than 2 goals, we were fortunate not to concede at least 2 in most of them. Tottenham should have been out of sight at HT, West Ham had 30 shots and Mads played a blinder v Bournemouth and they hit the woodwork numerous times. 

 

The defenders are poor but we also concede too many chances and goals from just outside the box, including yet another one today; that suggests an issue with the defensive central midfield, too.

 

We look doomed tbh.

Cooper was ugly as was his football but he had as scoring without any heavy defeats and arguably had better knowledge and experience than RVN.

£35 million for okoli and skipp wasted just imagine how good we could of looked if used that money correctly. It just baffles me how no one is made accountable for these massively poor decisions. If this was any other business in the private sector people like Rudkin are gone. It’s absolutely embarrassing for Top as he lets this happen.

Positives. Thomas was alright, Soumare good again, i though Ayew played well. I thought Vesty was solid till he got injured. Jakub is a good keeper.

Negatives. Bloody JJ. ffs. Mavi missing a sitter and struggling for form. Though Okoli looked awful when he came on and Facundo gave the ball away and had nothing in him to change the game.

 

Even though he can do the link up play stuff ok, I'm not sure i want to see Vardy running around on his own much.
