Yeah not sure you're even allowed an agent at 15 or not.

We're all biased of course, but as we're going down he has a genuine chance of playing first-team senior football next year at 16. If he's as good as we think he is he'll play and do well too.

Wouldn't be a terrible career move staying with us for now.

He’s clearly talented and if we stay on the current trajectory we’re on, he won’t ever be playing for us.

UEFA doesn’t permit signing players from other countries under 18, unless the parents are moving for non footballing reasons.

If we were in the EU, he could have moved at 16. We aren’t in the EU.

He could in theory join Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester City etc when he’s 16, as long as his parents consent and he’s getting adequate education.

Maybe if we agree for him to go to Madrid when he’s 18 then that’s our best way of keeping him for a couple seasons

We agree he can go at 24, that would be reasonable.  Two years is nothing, we need to stop being bullied.

Its clear he needs to be played, even if we lose him it would at least bump the compensation, the club are so daft.

sigh...

Thats why he was on the bench v Man U.  The club really arent that daft.  If he goes it is all evidence for the tribunal to set a fee.

There’s no chance he stays, not with the international interest in him. The only way we could keep him beyond this season is if we stayed up, and he was to play. So, the fact we’re going down will just make it easier for him to go.

Him signing for PSG or Real might suit us as we'd keep him until he's 18.

Interesting, I wasn’t aware of that. But would we then play him?

Bullied?

the kid can do as he wants in the summer

Even Liverpool fans are admitting the system is broken.  A fan listed to me a dozen or so players they got for peanuts, because the academies are bullied under the existing rules.

100% it’s broken

we’re also able to exploit it to take the best players from smaller clubs

but the very best will get snapped up by the big boys. I’ve already suggested a change - maybe that any kid that has been somewhere for more than four years and leaves before age 18 should have 10% of their subsequent two transfer fees paid to the development club.   There needs to be a system where the first club who take such a player should also pay a fee based on a clearer scale which recognises international appearances etc

When you consider PSR its a complete disaster.

Liverpool get a academy star for lets say 500k.  10 years later, the combined loan fees and sale fee might net them say 20-50 million.
