Regardless we need to lead the way as Poland have and increase defence spending to 4% minimum imo. It will be tough but not as tough as having to come good on our article 5 promises when Putin or similar tries again somewhere else. 
 

 

I agree. We need to review how we operate altogether to allow this. 
 

Unfortunately, whilst London is a financial powerhouse, the rest of the country is built on distribution centres.
 

It’s crazy to think that we have allowed business from other nations like Amazon, Meta, Cisco, Alphabet (Google), Adobe, Microsoft and Apple to avoid paying UK taxes and they now thrive with massive profits. Those billions of pounds could be utilised. 
 

We almost need to flip the world back on its head and maybe have a united approach with Europe. The world is a smaller place and as an island it is going to be difficult to survive in a fight if we are isolated on an island. 
 

We almost need to agree how we move forward as a borderless United States of Europe / EU (I know this will upset the right, as they still think we should shoot the rubber dinghies that are crossing the channel). 
 

We could do with agreeing strategic partnerships with other European based countries with manufacturing, food, energy, technology and pharmaceutical products at its heart.
 

Our challenge will be raw materials or such things as oil, fuel etc, however we need to find alternative ways forward as a combined effort.
 

This will of course require people to stop the duck swinging contest and have strategic conversations on a united effort to improve and become self sufficient.

 

Maybe somewhat idealistic, however can you trust our neighbours over the pond, or the impending treat of Russia squeezing us from the East? 
 

The other challenge is finding someone or a group of people competent in running everything in an efficient fashion!
