Andy King is about the only good player the academy has produced for roughly 20 years.

This is a stupidly hot take imo.

We should’ve signed Troy Deeney instead of Slimani

Shouldn't be an unpopular opinion. Deeney is a ***** but people seem to have conveniently forgotten that he was an effective player in the Premier League for a few seasons. Him playing alongside Vardy would have been horrible to play against. He did very well playing a supporting role to Igalo at Watford in 15/16 and could have done that effectively for us.

Ricardo (goalkeeper) was a better goalkeeper than Weale.

Right this has reminded me of one of mine - Weale wasn't 'that' bad, he just happened to make two huge clangers that happened to be away at Forest and away at Derby. Might be an age thing blurring my memory on him and obviously Schmeichel was a monumental upgrade but I don't remember him being that terrible. Certainly nothing like Ward level bad.

* Possibility I was kind to him because he came on a free transfer from Bristol City.

It's sad how much our fans hate Ben Chilwell, a player who came through our academy, has played for England and we sold for around £50 million.

You can point out how he celebrated goals against us, or the goal that never was in the FA cup final, but that was just him giving it back.

I couldn't blame him leaving, he left for Chelsea and won the champions league, got a massive wage boost and took an opportunity to go to a massive club that had a more realistic chance of winning big things.
I don't even care that he celebrated against us, I find it rather pathetic when fans scream abuse at ex players if they celebrate, if someone scoring a goal and celebrating is causing you to completely lose control of reality and scream abuse at someone you don't know, you probably need to reflect. Some of the ways football fans act around "loyalty" need to be studied, 99.999999% of Leicester fans would absolutely jump at the chance to join Chelsea from Leicester if they were a player.
Tribalism in football is rather embarrassing and I've never understood it, hating another fan or player because they play/support a rival for example. Very sad.

That was nothing compared to Adebayor's goal scoring celebration v Arsenal for Man. City that time!

Kind of understand what you're saying but many players we've sold and have had good grace amongst our fans, but Chilwell has always seemed a bit of a bell end towards us to be honest.

Or that it was as much down to him that we put ourselves in that position. Barely anyone he signed improved our team.

Puel, for all his interpersonal shortcomings, 'bequeathed' Rodgers the squad which won us the FA Cup - and which Rodgers gradually disincentified.

Missing out on the top 4 was not what's finished us. It is simply mismanagement and we'd have found our way here anyway. But not making the Champions League did speed up the process. I really don't agree with people who seem to think if we'd made it just the one time we'd still be good. We ultimately would still have exactly the same people in charge.

Mahrez goal v  Man City 15/16 was nothing out the ordinary.Joe Hart as good as let’s that ball go in

Nahhhhhhhhhhhh

Did Hart with the eyes before smashing it with his weaker foot which caught the keeper off guard as his momentum was going left.

Despite being our greatest ever player, Jamie Vardy is a poisonous influence in the locker room and has played a pivotal role on multiple managers being turned against by the players.

I don't feel either way about him really but I don't think it was the celebrating people had an issue with originally, it was that he came out and said whilst we were bottling top 4 he was discussing and fawning over potentially playing with Thiago Silva

Ayoze Perez was a good player, but we never played to his strengths.

(I was actually sad when we sold him).

Had the same conversation with a friend yesterday. Would walk into this team. His reported fee was his issue.
