Murphy and King until the end of the season.

Yep, that would be my plan. And I would guess its the club's most likely route - IF (big if) they decide to ditch him (or he jumps overboard himself).

If King is serious about being a manager, it'd just be a case of one unproven manager who has had nothing in the way of new ideas, and shown himself to be incapable, being subbed out for another unproven manager who might well cut his teeth on the job.

You never know what you might find, if he has the mandate to be brave with new ideas, and even braver when it comes to sidelining players who aren't fulfilling their most basic professional duties.

If that's the stipulation, then it would make more sense then a costly, short term interim appointment, or a longer term manager who'd forever be tarnished by what happens in the next few months. Unless there are green shoots of improvement before the end of the season, we'll need a fresh start in the summer. If Ruud has to go, and we accept that only a miracle can save our season, then this is the most affordable of the 'wild stab in the dark' / 'nothing to lose' options.

Yeah, but Murphy would be the boss. While he's only actually managed Rochdale, his CV at Man City is impeccable. And we took the gamble on Maresca with very similar background and experience - and that paid off.

Ruud is an awful manager but he was mislead at least into thinking we would strengthen in January.

Feels like Ruud and the players have given up and Top either doesn't care or dug a hole which he can't get out of.

The misled thing is really interesting. Did the club think they had PSR wiggle room to spend money and then realised they couldn't? Or was there a big money outgoing planned that fell through? Or did they simply lie to get Ruud through the door?

I think Hermanson was lined up for a big money transfer out. It either fell through because the team buying couldn't afford him or his injury put them off. Although his injury might have been fiction to keep him out of the starting line up. Maybe Ruud decided after watching our other goalkeepers play we were best to keep Hermanson. Whatever happened there was something about Hermanson's injury that just didn't seem right.

Whatever happened I don't think its as simple as Ruud was told we had money and then we didn't. I also don't think there is a reluctance to spend money- I think something is preventing us from doing do.

My other gripe with the January window was all the noise was about potential points deductions. That's two windows in a row where we have been hampered by noise suggesting we would be docked points. Not great for attracting talent.

Odds just show that nobody else is that near the exit: Southampton long resigned to the drop, McKenna rated highly and well liked at Ipswich, Postecoglu seen results pick up at Spurs. Amorim will likely get a summer rebuild before his position comes under threat too.

Second in the odds list is "no manager to leave". Battle is whether our ownership shows some fight and have a go, or we just roll over and die.

The common error of people not knowing what they're betting on, right up there with thinking a team is 20/1 for promotion when it's actually to win the Championship, causing huge disappointment to Billy Big Bo**ocks when he pitches up at Laddies the day after the play-off final.

Good call. How about as deputy to RVN to save Tops face and sacking cash?

Many of the players are snakes for yesterday, but RVN also has to fall into that, hos tactics and lack of changes at 45 baffled the tv pundits commentators so you can only make of it he threw the game on purpose, so he has to go surely

These threads are tiresome. Anyone coming in now has got the chain of fixtures from HELL. Should have done it with some more favourable games if you were gonna do it.

It's to late now to make changes ,we did that when we brought in Dean Smith and he had only 8 games ,

Please no.... just no

We are in the absolute pitts, RVN is way out of his depth and has to go, what would you rather do, put Andy King in charge with no experience, or Lennon who at least has managed at a high level, and make it temporary, who else is gonna come in?

Sean "Mr Silky Football" Dyche? 18 month contract - try and save us and or gives him 1 chance to get us back up perhaps?

I would prefer young up and coming but Dyche buys us time

Or he just hangs around for a 3 year deal somewhere?

Lennon is not the way forward.... he woukd be way out of his depth.   Being straight with you ... I don't think this situation can be turned around and so sacking ruud now or not is irrelevant.  I would hire Carrick fir next season

Yes i really like Carrick, I think sometimes managerial appointments can be a gamble whoever you appoint, Carrick has shown an element of understanding in game and pre game tactics. And we won't have a great pool of managers to choose from, my suggestion with Lennon would just be till the end of the season, as anyone with anything to lose isn't coming here, and it's not all lost till it's mathematically impossible.

We saw how bad Dawson was for a game. I don't think these 2 are ready to be chucked in.

Murphy's actually been a manager before at Rochdale and then Man City U21s. Dawson's always been a coach.
