I wouldn't have thought so because the problem with washing machine tablets is supposedly that the gooey liquid coats everything and doesn't get washed away.

We had problems with our old dishwasher as although we cleaned the unit and the filter fairly regularly, the drain hose eventually got blocked up with food waste anyway - like properly solid with grossness. I don't remember that causing much of a smell but it was properly horrible so it probably did.

The washing machine guy that came to us on Friday was great - he does dishwashers as well so I'll DM you his details if you want them (assuming you're in Leicester, which I think you are)

Hinckley, so probably best to leave it for now thanks though. I'll try looking at the hose.

I read that as you only found out about Hinckley today. I would leave it too for now.

Nowt wrong with Tin Hat Town.

Other than the roads, the A5 bridge, the numpties, the ever increasing number of Turkish barbers and Chinese nail bars.

Mind you, I moved here from Leicester and my wife from Coventry so I quite like the place by comparison.

Parents had the same issue because they never "pre-cleaned" pots, so eventually all the buildup plugged the waste pipe like a fatberg. Quite easy to take the pipe out and make sure it's clear.

Whacking out the filter in ours is one of the few domestic jobs that make me gag.

I was in Hinckley for the first time in years last week. Not doing too badly compared to some places I've been to

Mods have locked the most popular topic in Gen News yet again.

Freedom of discussion is a tricky line to walk on a non-political football forum but IMO it's the diversity of the various topics, in particular the news topic that makes FT quite unique, especially when compared to other football forums that have nothing like we do on FT.

There's been lots of insight and often intellectual expression of views on so much that affects us and the world in general.

I made a point of reading the news topic and comparing my views and opinions against those expressed by regular posters and learning things as a result.

So much will be lost by the removal. I understand mods have to be careful and it must be difficult and time consuming and Mark does a great job of giving us this means to express our views on so many things. Some posters behave badly and draw controversy but it'll be sad loss if we can't regenerate a topical conversational section.

Woke nonsense hopefully they unlock it

Agreed.  I've been doing really well not to argue about some topics recently too :)

I got asked, rather rudely I thought the other day by someone on the football thread,  what I as an Arsenal fan I was doing on this site.  I didn't provide a reply, but if I had it would have been because I like reading and sometimes contributing to the threads under the General Discussion banner.  IMO they tend to be more interesting than the football threads.  That is because for the main part,  whilst people will of course disagree with each other, the tone is generally respectful.  If someone for example on ‘the gooner’ disagreed with each other frequently one or both would told to f**k off and die.  The ‘mods’ tended to let a lot go!  I hope the General News thread will be reinstated at some point.

I welcome your presence here. Someone else to recall the halcyon days of the Routemaster!. Do you remember the Met Police Band at Highbury at half time?

Cheers.  I think the met police band finished playing at Highbury during the 80s.  I first went regularly to Highbury from the mid 90’s, so did n’t get to see them.   Still miss the old ground though, you must feel the same way about Filbert Street?

The Drum Major used to play to the crowd and throw it high and catch it and the crowd cheered though hoping he would drop it. I miss Filbo but it was a bit lopsided with no room to expand. My first Leicester away game was at Highbury. A 0-1 loss in May 1966.

Some people are incredibly narrow and territorial in outlook. I welcome you here, along with several other migratory visitors.

I should have said he threw the mace high though I suppose you gathered that!
