Lineker's Left Foot Posted 27 April 2025 Posted 27 April 2025 We’ve got no chance of getting Ange. Russell Martin it is.

Don't worry about the defence, try to out score the opposition, but get rid of your best striker before the season starts and if Plan A doesn't work the just do Plan A more.
Foxin_Mad Posted 27 April 2025 Posted 27 April 2025 I reckon Ange is a bigger fraud than Rudd. Finishing near the bottom with that side and investment is criminal.

There’s failure and there is relegation form if the 3 promoted sides weren’t so shite. The have lost to most the sides in the bottom 3 too, absolutely tragic. I’m not having him as a good manager.

Perish the thought. 1
LVFox Posted 27 April 2025 Posted 27 April 2025 Think as long as it isn't Russell Martin I'm happy. As long as it's someone who looks like a) we'd have a chance of staying up if we went back up again or b) gives the youngsters a real chance. Both is the dream
Popular Post alanf0x Posted 27 April 2025 Popular Post Posted 27 April 2025 Absolutely pointless getting excited about a new manager until the board have changed 11

Russell Martin got Southampton up playing not to far off whay enzo did and that worked, also Russell showed he’s happy to use youth at Southampton which we will need. He ain’t the worst shout in the championship ange would be horrible 1

My issue with RM is he seems to be like one of lads type of managers, that can work at times but I rather see us bring in a nonsense headmaster type. Popular Post Claudio Fannieri Posted 28 April 2025 Popular Post Posted 28 April 2025 Miron Muslic at Plymouth although they have been relegated he performed superbly in the time he has been there, he has won 1.4 points per game and over a 46 game season would have had them in 12th, when he took them over from Rooney the damage had been done, he also masterminded the FA Cup victory against Liverpool. Only 42 years old, and with Championship experience under his belt I think this would be a really exciting appointment. 9

You look at the young players he had at Cercle Brugge and it fits with the type of manager we might require if we're serious about rebuilding via bringing through our academy talent and recruiting some lesser known players as we look to move the high earners on. I'm going to do some more research on him. I've kept an eye on their results in recent months and can't help but be impressed given how heinous Rooney was. 1

Popular Post Claudio Fannieri Posted 28 April 2025 Popular Post Posted 28 April 2025 Took Cercle from the relegation places to the play offs and a 6th place finish in his first season and then in second season he guided them into the playoffs and European qualification, given the job he has done at Plymouth as well, I would rather see us go down this route with a manager with a higher ceiling than go down a tried and tested safe option of a Russell Martin or Sean Dyche. 9

Just been reading further. Ueda got sold and he just turned Denkey in to a beast instead. It's the proven track record of a young squad, bringing through players from their academy and signing young players too. Olaigbe he got for a nominal fee and has since gone to Rennes and looks to be a superstar in the making. Now we've badly been let down by Cooper and RvN who you could say did similar at previous clubs but it's still the profile of manager I want our club to be targeting and demanding that's their ethos. 4

Thing is if we have the same morons at the club which looks likely we are going to get another random manager they have somehow heard of out of a hat. They have no clue, intelligence or foresight to bother to build a list of managers, research then employ as well as thinking about succession. Inly way we get an out of the box manager is if they apply, probably helps if they go on to. Edited 28 April 2025 by Foxin_Mad 1

We'd start well but his style and methods has been known to produce injuries not just with Spurs but also with Celtic too. In a 46-game Championship season, we'd have no players left.
JimJams Posted 28 April 2025 Posted 28 April 2025 Not that it evens matters really, but Ange cannot sort out a defence to save his life. He's awful. Could end up the only manager we have a positive points advantage over from 2 games this season.

I came across this tweet when delving into John Mousinho last week. The Championship form guide since the new year which pinpoints the improvement Muslic has made at Plymouth. As you said in your other post, I’d rather target a Championship manager who has recent upside. Liam Manning, John Mousinho and Miron Muslic tick that box. 2

This style fits more with what Enzo was trying to build, we should see more opportunities for our talented youngsters. It seems likely we'd go for him too considering we was linked with him before Enzo and plays the football that top apparently wants.
