Premier Ambition | Amateur Decisions

Spot on, Harpenden Fox. The original message gets the wider public conversation started about how the club's being run, and hopefully builds a narrative that explains how such a successful team, over the past ten years, is now in such a mess.

This is a message about change at LCFC.

This is also spot on 👏

I think you’ve taken his post as support for your view when it isn’t.

“Premier Ambition” at best is woolly and clumsy, but at worst gives the board credit for their ambition …. Why??

Sack The Board

King Power Out

Are the two statements that can’t be misunderstood / misquoted / twisted as somewhat sympathetic with KP /Top / The Board

I think the board do have the ambition of being a top 6 club, that has been the case since they bought it. Unfortunately their lack of competence is hampering that ambition.

For me, King Power is simply the sponsor. 'King Power out' type messages don't really help. What needs to be highlighted is the amount of shocking decisions that have been taken by the senior leaders. Of course Top has ultimate responsibility for this. He quite clearly needs to recruit a far superior senior management team.

Ideally I would like to see King Power retain its backing, but with significant changes at board level, and a change in attitude leading to them communicating openly and honestly with we, the supporters.

Premier Ambition isn't attributed to anyone - we, as a club, have that ambition, but amateur decisions are destroying that ambition

I don’t doubt they blindly hope … Ambition, to me, implies the coupling of hope with a modicum of planning, that makes the hope at least a possibility.

That lack of competence means I’m unwilling to credit them with ambition instead of wild hope

Exactly. It’s a positive statement attributed to nobody, so Top / the media will attribute it as they wish. It will be understood as “despite their ambitions the board have been criticised for their execution”

It’s a let off they don’t deserve

I did like the premier league ambitions amateurish decisions slogan. Because they exactly what our scenario is!

How about "Rotten From TOP through Rudkin and Whelan to the bottom"

They also pump in cash, quite a lot each year, most of which is to cover their mistakes.

I don't have any issues with their ambition for the club, seagrave and the plans for stadium show that.

Just the pesky competence issue.

Simple and profound is the message you want to emit when making a statement like this….. I really think the original slogan is spot on, because it’s thought provoking, and not petulant…… you want your message to not just resonate with your own club, but others too, because that’s what catches the attention, something like ‘premier league ambition, amateurish decisions’, is a really impactful statement. The club pride themselves on their decisions, and the way they run the club, this statement undermines all of that, and rather than a “Rudkin out, or Top out or Whelan out” it attacks the very fundamental principals that the board set out. It will also catch the attention of those in the wider footballing world, and possibly make people think, “oh actually, there are major problems with Leicester City”……

Knowing @ozvaldo on a personal level. He takes no delight in having to protest against our football club. He loves Leicester City like I’m sure we all do. The majority of donations came in after the change to “King Power Out” and if people aren’t happy he’s said repeatedly if anyone wants their donation back then it will be refunded to you.

I don’t understand the personal abuse and shit talking to a fan who is simply fed up of the status quo and is doing what he can to try and force some change to a club that is deteriorating before our eyes. Seems we have a good number of keyboard warriors in our fanbase who will call their own but won’t help to hold an ownership to account that is neglecting the club by allowing incompetent people to keep earning 6 figures despite their inability to run this football club correctly.

I think most have been very thankful to @ozvaldo

I've not seen personal abuse

I think KP out is a wasted opportunity and I've put forward my suggestion.

Ultimately im just happy someone is doing something

He isn’t getting any personal abuse on here though, is he? There are different opinions as you’d expect on a message board, but I haven’t seen any abuse.

I’ve seen direct messages which are people having a pop. Majority on here have been supportive but the number of people who don’t see an issue with ownership and key decision makers is crazy to me.

The Facebook warriors are a special special breed, I think it would take the club going down to League 2 before they dared to question the owner.

On this issue, the fans can seem split into three broad groups: 1) Those who support both the protest and the ‘King Power Out!’ phrasing on the banner; 2) The loyalist KPFC facebookers who won’t accept any criticism of the owners and will never join in any kind of protest; and 3) Those who are angry at what’s happening at the club and support the idea of a protest, but think the ‘King Power Out!’ phrase is a missed opportunity that may end up reinforcing the status quo rather than challenging it.

The discussion on here has mainly been between groups 1) and 3) and has been largely civil in nature. Group 2) are a different type of fan altogether - despite being very passive in their unquestioning loyalty to the club they can become quite nasty when confronted with opinions they don’t like. Thankfully there aren’t too many on here.
