Makes you sick doesn't it. Just proves the board have absolutely no idea what they're doing. This is where all of our problems have started. Beyond embarrassing now I'm just slowly distancing away

Let’s not forget Juric, and his massive four points in fourteen games. One win, one draw, twelve losses.

We could still go lower…

Martin being reunited with Westergaard!
The horrific  thought of another season watching Westergaard walk the ball slowly to the half way line before passing it sideways or backwards for 80 minutes is all I need to think about around this appointment .

I really, really hope not. Bet they can't believe what they're seeing down on the south coast, as we employ another of their cast-offs. It's ****ing embarrassing

Must be fair, we really can't!

Is he? Did Martin celebrate on the pitch with the opposition star players after every Southampton defeat?

Did Martin refuse to pick his six or seven better players every week?

And on top of that did Martin ignore the Southampton fans after every home game?

Was he as much of a douche bag as he looked from a distance? I found he was arrogant and annoying most of the time. Your defensive record for him wasn't great either, was that a tactic or personnel issue?

Also, can I have a hug?

Ruud is less of a c**k than this tinpot Rodgers wannabe

Ruud has shown absolutely nothing to suggest he’s the man to take us forward.

Muppet kept saying about building for next season, continues to play players who won’t have a future at the club whilst totally ignoring our youth talent in absolute nothing games.

He’s been found out and it will be a while before he gets another management gig, can’t have imagined a more honking appointment in hindsight.

Oh, if he was chocolate he would eat himself. Sees a win gained from deviating from his own tactical plans as a betrayal.

The defensive record is certainly not exclusively due to his set-up, but my god he wouldn't change it for the world. Be prepared to pull your hair out in frustration over his idiotic dogma and the knowledge that you will know how you will play every week, so will the opposition. He. Will. Not. Deviate.

Oh, and his football, even when it works is boring. Really painfully boring. In our unbeaten championship run back in 23/24 it was never comfortable, never fun. It was never with any feel of momentum.

Sending many hugs.

He’s preparing a new backroom staff which is a good sign he’s obviously changing/tweaking stuff but I’m one of not many Lcfc fans that thinks he will do a very good job with us! He will have a much better side than he did with you guys imo. One question I do have is that did the players seem to wanna play for him and like him ? I got that feeling when watching you guys the championship year.

Off the team RM built.

It’s very difficult to find a worse manager than RM.

Top is pursuing an alleged style over substance. This in itself is heinous. It just proves that he is a brain dead lunatic. He needs to **** off ASAP.

This was his strength. He did seem able to build very strong rapport with his players.

On the flip side though, his matey behaviour clearly doesn't equate to the players feeling the need to run through walls for him. We became hopelessly unfit under his watch. The passing drills do not raise the heart rate it seems.

My least favourite manager in recent times. I include Mad Nate Jones in that list, he was at least funny.

Sending many hugs.

Presumably only if he was dark chocolate

Hmmm he does come across a very likeable chap. 2 more questions if you don’t mind, what sort of striker does he prefer ? And your wingers last season was they very attack minded and like a take on ? We had 2 of the best ones in Mavididi and Fatawu but there was a lot of games where they wouldn’t beat there man and would go back and pass to defenders ( enzo’s tactics ) KWP was linked with us last season maybe he will go in for him as he’s now a free agent.

Strikers, we were linked with Piroe (Obviosuly didn't get him.) And did sign Ross Stewart.... which clearly went well. He looks to like strikers who are good with their feet and can hold up play/bring others into play. We were arguably at our best with Ché Adams in the side in the Championship. In the PL, well, it's a mystery. He went as far as starting no strikers, and 4 on the bench at Dean Court earlier this season. One things for sure though, no crosses will come into the box. We had a crude but occasionally effective outlet in Paul Onuachu. He didn't get a look in, so no chance for target men.

In terms of wing play, it would seem that Maresca and Martin have similar philosophy. He wingers do not beat their men, if they are to break through lines it will be from one touch passing threading through. But, when the opposition know you will hold possession and just sit back to hit you on the break, it won't happen much.

His championship record

Games138

Wins60

Draws34

Losses44

Goals (For / Against)213 / 195

Martin’s record with Swansea and Southampton in the Championship

when you think that with includes a promotion from a pre season favourite, it’s pretty wank

Thanks @Colinjb for the input, it's made me very depressed and even more sure that this is a ridiculously short sighted appointment.

We're going to be so boring next season if he comes in. At least in some games we broke free and attacked well under Enzo. The one that sticks out is mavs against your lot (sorry)

I'm intrigued how Will Still will go with you. At least you've got for a fresh approach, where we have no idea and look at what's around us.

A bit more post spurs 5-0 sacking

Sunday's defeat was the fourth time Southampton have conceded five goals in 45 minutes as a Premier League club. No other team has experienced that more than once.

This post deserves all 3 reactions, a Thumbs up, and a thanks because it's true, and a smiley face because it's actually hilarious at the same time.

And, that game had us frustrated and wondering what the point of Martin was.

I am feeling hopeful for Will Still, that he openly says he would adapt how he plays to win, regardless of style made me almost exhale in relief. But, he was appointed by our owners, so I await everything going tits up.
