I think most fans have accepted that there cannot be a statement made about the manager as it’s clearly linked to PSR, however the club most definitely could and should have posted a message as

soon as relegation was confirmed or the season had ended, recognising that the season had been a disaster from start to finish and that a full and thorough review of all departments would take place, which could conveniently conclude on the 1st July with the announcement of Ruud’s departure  and a number of other structural changes within the club. 
 

To just sit on their hands and say nothing demonstrates just how out of kilter they are and the complete lack of awareness or respect they have to the fanbase. 
 

As @Chelmofox says we will always be supporters of Leicester City, it’s in our blood and our hearts, you cannot switch that on and off however it doesn’t mean you have to support the ownership or accept how they are currently running the club. 
 

Engagement with your fanbase is even more important and critical in the bad and challenging times than it is in the good times. A half decent and competent head of communications would recognise this and be advising and producing a number of communications to be released throughout the close season to engage the fanbase and start to create some positive momentum leading up to pre season, instead we have radio silence or a few happy birthday messages. It really is own goal after own goal with this mob.

For me, the responsibility obviously rests with the three senior executives within the club  - Whelan; Top and Rudkin - and whilst they retain their positions, it's hard for me to be enthusiastic about potential replacement team managers.

Any incoming 1st team manager will find his efforts and ambitions for the club limited as a result of the incompetence of those three senior executives, two of which at least- Whelan and Rudkin - simply have to be replaced before there can be any meaningful progress. That's  my belief anyway.

And your spot on with all of that ... I really hope I am wrong but whilst the current regime is in situ its hard to look forward with any real excitement... but I do hope that all the silence will herald a new era for the club with a new regime

Just think about it - fans still turn up to watch dross everywhere (well - apart from Blackburn it seems). Some fans will turn up just to give their owners / management sh1t. Football is in my blood, and I'm like a big % of club fans out there who aren't glory hunters.

 

The recent home matches have seen quite significant anti board / rudkin messages. We even had a plane go around and do its thing. I don't go away but every game i have watched later this season has seen the same reaction from the fans.

 

We have have been relegated twice in 3 seasons, the content on socials will be damning, i am sure there was a significant reduction in season ticket retentions, the owners are at war with both the PL and EPL, and i bet the owners are finding harder and harder to deal with agents to get players / playing staff in and out.

 

There are more than enough performance metris out there telling our board and ownership that is ISN'T working right now, before we get to other fans complaining to me that i renewed my season ticket.

 

My take is the board are aware more and ever about it, and that's the reason for the radio silence. All they have ever known is a fan base that adores them. They genuinely don't know how to handle it.

Following an extensive internal review following a very disappointing season which resulted in relegation, the club have made the decision to terminate the contract of Manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy with immediate effect, we would like to place on record our thanks to Ruud for his hard work and commitment and wish him well for the future. The club will now commence the process of recruiting a new manager.

I'm praying they have already sorted all this and it's just a PSR hurdle they want to get around because it's not worth waiting until July 1st for any other reason. it's far too late! First pre-season game is in about two weeks time.

Being scared shitless of PSR is no way for football to be, it's ruined the whole sport.

The previous relegation apparently took them by surprise as the squad had Maddison, Barnes, Tielemans, KDH, Evans etc in it. This one shouldn't have, 5 minutes into the Spurs game as we defended almost from the goal line you could see we were not ready, not prepared, not capable, not good enough (OK we got a point but that's Spurs being Spursey!). They've had 9 months to work out what was going on.

 

What they need to recognize is how uncompetitive we were this time, it wasn't even close, nip and tuck, giving it a go, it was a footballing white-wash, 9 games without a goal stuff. 

 

It's like selling tickets to an opera and then having Sue Pollard come on and play Rule Britannia with a Kazoo. 

 

They will point firmly at PSR and having their hands tied but what about looking at the money we did have to spend. Tell me Top, Rudkin, Whelan, how useful were Skipp, Eduaoard, renewed Vestergaard and Okoli? Could that money have been used better? Could the loan slot been used better on a hungry vibrant young player? What do you think you saw out there Top? Tell us what you think it was. Then tell us (for the 2nd time in 3 years) how it won't happen again. This isn't about results it's about application and set up, we were blatantly shambolic. Two poor managers, managers who were appointed by who? Not finding another player in January "within budget who would improve the team"? What was the budget, tuppence ha'penny and a toffee wrapper? At least try something, mix it up, new faces, new personalities, new ideas but no, keep handing shirts to uninterested and incompetent players over and over again. Our Badge, Our reputation, our club has been devalued due to poor decisions. Again.  Tell us the reasoning behind the decision making. At least then there will be some (a couple of weeks) time between that and the inevitably positive spin on new beginnings, new fixtures (yay Millwall), new kit, our promising youngsters, (possibly) a new manager. Right now though I wouldn't trust any of them with a single decision, the model is broken, every decision digs our hole deeper and deeper.

Between us getting relegated in April and the start of the Championship season there are 110 days. 110 days to sort stuff out, make plans and generally for Rudkin and the owner to do their jobs. 

 

We're 61 days in (54%) of the way through that window and there's been nothing. No statement, no plans, hardly a rumour of any departures or incomings. All we have is a half baked 3 game pre season schedule, one game of which is basically an in house friendly. 

 

Total negligence. And before any apologists pipe up bleating about waiting for July because of "PSR", remember we're ****ed by PSR because of the decision making of Rudkin and Nepo Baby, nothing else.

This is all extremely sad but very true .... the only hope they have plans already in place to shock us all when July arrives .... if not then they need to take a long hard look in the mirror at themselves... but the predicted response is the season tickets have sold out so everything is fine ... and everyone is happy

I genuinely feel like when the season finishes and the players go off on holiday etc. that Top sees it as he is also finished for the summer and gets to go off on holiday, play Polo and not worry or think about the club until preseason starts. It's the same thing every year.

 

I think he thinks that's just how it is for the players and as he's 'more important' in his own eyes, he feels like it's also his holiday time. 

 

I don't think he sees this club as a 'serious' or 'proper' job, it's just something that gives him some credit with people back home in Thailand.

Bristol City have just announced Struber as their new head coach.

Alongside their announcement they're holding a live press conference with the Chairman to explain the hire and the future of the club.

 

They have also welcomed a small number of questions from supporters.
