Just spoke to someone that works within the staff and he says he’s never seen it like that before and there struggling to get rid of the turf whatever the hell that means

I played at the King Power in 2016 a couple of weeks after the season finished and the pitch looked similar then. I imagine in May/June they must just not do any maintenance on it. It’ll be fine by August,

weird that we wouldn't do any maintenence when we're literally hosting a lionesses game. Like, if it's not in use you can kinda excuse not doing any maintenance and taking a month off, but not when you're set up with events on it.

We have been throughout the off-season.

It wasn't planned to be like this.

They do tons of junior and charity games after the season played so it can't be relayed.

They then wouldn't have time to do it before this game.

So really it should be done tomorrow in time for fiorentina but we are shambles so who knows

70-80 % of the pitch is artificial anyway.(not including the sand obviously)

Will be as good as new when season comes.

it just looks a poor reflection on the club yet again....hosting an international match on prime time tv and it looks awful! it just smacks of poor standards yet again.  Standards have slipped so much in recent years

It is  not artificial 4G turf like you get on sports courts with those black bits.

Just fibres sewn into the ground for the grass to wind around to grow stronger.

Pitch looks  poor but seems to be playing Ok, Sure the womens team will had a lot worse facilities under that what has been provided here. The pitch needs to be ready for August and the new season, kick off if it is poor then but a lot more needs sorting than the state of the pitch

Derries Nurseries don’t keep turf in stock, when it’s cut and rolled (usually from Lincolnshire) it’s generally delivered that day to the customer, it goes yellow very quickly.

More so when it’s hot and dry, they could’ve picked a box of grass seed up from Asda like I did last week, £4 I think. 😊

They do mate I’ve been there and picked rolls up lots and lots of times granted they may not always be stocked with it 24/7
