I’m sure I seen that it already had a disease last season as questions was asked about the pitch, so it’s been relaid and still got the disease?

The way our team fvcked about on the pitch last season it's probably caught an STI.

The concern from the now deleted posts was that the fixes they had put in to remove the fungus hasn’t fixed the problem and now they aren’t sure what they’re dealing with. The fact the groundsman has admitted they’ve already got to the fingers crossed and hoping for the best stage doesn't fill me with confidence 😬

Maybe I'm stating the obvious. If they can't treat it in place surely the next thing to do is cut out all the Bad areas and relay with new Grass.

It's a hybrid desso surface, so there are (expensive)woven artificial fibres - they can't just cut chunks of it out and roll turf down.

Considering recent job openings, we've lost our stadium pitch manager. We still have a considerable staff with quality experience across 3 sites. Going from these tweets this won't be a quick fix but it'll have been taken very seriously, the club has prided itself on high standard surfaces and has the leading pitch infrastructure.

Can't imagine it being ripped up again so close to the season.  I'd be surprised if this doesn't carry on into the season, even if it's superficial discoloration.

Good explanation and very transparent. He'll be hauled in for a meeting tomorrow after this - they don't do that here.

Based on the fact the posts have been deleted, I'm guessing the club weren't a fan of the approach of honesty and transparency lol

Thanks for that info it is enlightening. I thought it's laid by rolling it out as opposed to spreading seed. I certain they know what they are doing, but can they not just take up a roll and lay a new one.

It just shows how the Technoledgy has moved on. I have in the past laid a few Pitch but it was just Drainage then soil and seed. That was 40 year ago.  I'm sure they get it sorted.

Didn't we have an educational course for groundsmen from other Clubs to attend.  Is that still going.

They can although it’s certainly far from ideal, they did it last season that’s why we had the small squares where something had happened to the water sprinklers

It'll be discoloured in patches where new seed has been sown. A couple of the patches looked quite bad so would've had to have the soil replaced and filled in.

The concern really is the amount of games coming up this season, while already playing catch-up on getting the pitch ready with what's happened.

Saw the other week with the Seagrave training games, the standard the club is capable of is still fantastic. Just seems we've had a particular problem come up here.

I mean really, it'll be fitting for how far we've fallen in the Top era if, on top of our squad of failures, fake betting shirt sponsor and looming points deductions, we have a pitch that looks like the Somme for Marti to try and play passing football on.

This was our pitch 8 years ago.
