I would move on both, 3 first team centre backs with an academy lad like Kevon Gray as emergency backup is enough imo.

If he starts going to a back 3 we aren't moving on both

Probably doesn’t mean a lot considering he left the pitch with his leg in a brace, but hasn’t officially been noted or replaced in the England U21 squad yet.

EDIT: Has now.

Any news on him?

Watching the Denmark game last night, the thought of seeing Vestergaard line up for us makes me foam at the mouth.  Sh1te at all levels and an awful defender that we have made our talisman.

Can't bear the thought of Nelson being out for months.

Was he starting their attacks out the back and delivering the ball the same way he does for us? If not then there’s no excuse for Marti to keep letting him stink us out.  That’s me assuming Marti has an idea that is being ignored.

He didn't start fullstop. He came on later in the game and tbf he should throw his bonce infront of that Tierney goal, he was next to it!

It’d be good to know what is happening.

We don’t seem to get short term injuries so I have resigned myself to Vestergaard and Faes until into the new year.

Hopefully it doesn’t stall his career after the lay off last season.

Worrying thing is if Denmark don't make the world cup Vesty will have even less of a reason to try

I don’t think it really makes a difference. He’s so bad regardless!

More worryingly, in the next game after making 5 successful passes to Winks most people will think he is our best player.

We need an xG equivalent for passes that stats for which are mostly meaningless.

We should 'ole' every short pass he makes.

Make it ole 1, ole 2, ole 3 etc. if it gets too high it might confuse some of our fans.

Vestergaard has many faults as a defender but let's not make out that he is not really good on the ball, especially in the Championship. And not all of his passes are simple 5 yard passes; he's really good at line breaking passes. The problem is that Marti is rinsing that as a tactic so other teams are now wise to it. If we used passes like this as a part of a variety of tactics they would be much more effective, as we saw under Enzo.

Agreed, saying Vestergaard prioritises 5 yard passes is absolutely wild. Is he an average defender, yes, is he mobile, most definitely not but to dumb down his passing ability at this level is ridiculous.

What does wind me up about Jannik is he can actually put his foot in too.

However, that seems very infrequently and often gets muscled off the ball by much smaller players.

A very infuriating player in my eyes.

Shame hes awful at any kind of recovery and makes plenty of poor passes too

And blind to the simple passes to get the team attacking quickly instead of slowing the game down.  Expecting clowns like Ayew and Daka being able to control the ball with Skipp in the middle is never going to work.

People keep trotting this out and it's arguably true simply because he's played so much more than the others. Mind you, Thomas has been crap but he's probably made less big mistakes than Vestergaard which says a lot.

There's some weird cult around Vestergaard with some people on here. His distribution last time out was absolutely shocking and led to yet another goal but there's not a whisper about him on his thread?

As far Nelson, he should have been the player the team was built around so I can only imagine there was definitely something else going on.
