Why’s this still open, eh. Phil

Because we probably won't confirm he has left for an "undisclosed fee" until the middle of next week.

Has been great for us, I will miss him, although I won’t miss all the “jokes” on here about his age… £9m is a great fee considering we could have lost him for free before. Credit where it’s due, rare these days.

He ‘failed’ an mri scan that proved him to be overage for a youth tournement for Nigeria, he’s definitely older than 28

The entire MRI scan for age dating was semi debunked though. I read up on it.

Unfortunately it was massively prevalent for years with African based players, so that will forever hold a stigma.

I suppose as long as he passes a VO2 max test, that will give everyone an idea on just how fit he actually is.

Age is a number that is largely irrelevant. Fitness, dexterity, speed, power etc, can all be measured.

I’m well aware of the claims and counterclaims

Putting aside the litany of literature about the MRI scan (scam) as an age determinant, Wilf ‘passed’ the scan during the qualifiers and ‘failed’ it for the tournament proper, all within a year. Accordingly, if you believe the scan to be reliable he would’ve been at worst a few months older than listed.
