Monga has more prem minutes than both those. By the end of the season he'll have double the minutes of professional football than the other 2 combined. Unless their careers have already been mapped out for them, and you've had a glimpse of the future, this feels a bit short sighted!

You know they are at least as good if not better, lets not muck about...

There’s no free hits in professional football mate, think you need to calm down a tad, are you his uncle or something?

I like him and definitely a player in there but if you’re old enough to play professional football you’re old enough to be critiqued. I’m not going to come on here and say oh wow he was amazing when he was obviously a little out of his depth. Which is the expectation by the way, I’m not expecting him to go and smash up Birmingham city.

I hope you’re okay though you sound really stressed.

It’s your opinion that he was out of his depth. An opinion not shared by many people tbh, including the current manager of the football club, but hey opinions are like arseholes, we’ve all got one and some stink.

Yeah the young kid is being thrown in the deep end and gets an assist. Lets critique every aspect of his game like he is a seasoned pro.

Look how much older Barnes and KDH were when they got loans to league one teams

Have you bothered to read the thread at all? Thought he was fine at Charlton but poor last night. Seriously, if you guys are that upset about a Leicester City footballer being criticised for his performance then I probably wouldn't bother logging onto a Leicester City forum :)

Monga being a freak of nature is going to see Page held to pretty unrealistic expectations. He should be involved but we shouldn't be needing to start him more than about 10 times this season.

I'm sure your your kind words of support are really helping as he ponders on whether to sign a new contract or move to pastures new

He certainly wasn't poor last night but on the other hand he wasn't fantastic either

Strangely enough he played like a very inexperienced 17 year old who showed glimpses of real potential that most supporters observed and acknowledged

Not sure how many more times I need to say I like him and think there’s a real player in there.

I’m well within my rights to say I thought he was poor last night. Get over it lads ;)

If he’s making his decision to sign a new contract based on my comments on FT then he needs a new agent!

He was miles better at charlton

Disagree with that. Was playing far too deep v Charlton and lost the ball in bad places. They had a decent chance in the first half.

Last night he was occupied a Birmingham CB which made them go man for man at the back.

Can’t believe this has to be pointed out.

I’ve not been impressed with him at all.

A nice assist but I can’t remember anything else that he’s done, last night and against Charlton. Would be interested to see how many times he’s given the ball away.

Monga is good but not generational. Rio Nguhoma and Max Dowman who are doing it in  the prem at the same age or younger might have something to say about that

Monga could be generational

dowman will be generational  - anyone with the.remotest involvement in youth football down here has known this for years

nguhoma could be anything - too early to have an opinion

but as with all very young players, a bad injury can scupper everything.

Careful you’re about to be called out for having an opinion ‘not shared by many’

Fair enough, I thought absolutely everything he did last night went wrong, even the assist to some extent. There were mistakes at Charlton but thought he was better personally.

Well on the assist, he picked the ball up and drove twenty yards with it. Which is what he didn’t do at Charlton

Well if Bilal wasn’t linked with a move away we would be starting him. I’d also imagine that we would replace Bilal if he left so for the time being Page fills the void but it’s nice to see youngsters pushing through into the first team.

People on this thread need to have a look in the mirror and act their ages.

Never seen such a display of handbag whirling in all my days.

The lad is very young and has been thrown in the deep end. That is true.

He looked miles out of his depth last night. That is also (imo) true.

Both can be true and, in fact, it's very likely to be the case as one leads to the other.

Pointing out one doesn't detract from the other.

Our fans....jeez

That’s fine by me, everyone has their opinions. I want him to do well of course and I’m absolutely not slating him, we must remember this is just his third game of professional football too - I just don’t think he’s been anywhere near as good as people are making him out to be and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with saying that.

Spot on.

I'd love it if Monga and Page played 20 games each this season and did really well.Same with Nelson and Alves who id love to kick on this season.

Would be a great sign for the club as per the statement and mean we can rid ourselves of even more wage rats....

There looks to be a player in there, but physically he looks a boy playing against men.

The minutes he's getting now will be invaluable to him in the long run. Just a case of getting him minutes throughout the season and blooding him properly. Its only a lack of options, for one reason or another, that hes starting.

Championship is a long old slog. Of course he shouldn’t be starting every week but this is the sort of club I want us to be, not afraid to trust in these young players.

How is he ever meant to adjust to the speed of senior football if not given the chance?
