Oh FFS! I'm watching Bayern v Werder Bremen instead. Just about done with this manager.

Not sure if joking? Is this a "whoosh" moment for me?!

Nelson hasn't done enough to earn selection, nor is there a real reason to change the defence. If he's good enough his time will come.

Soumare's pretty cack, but I'd pick him over Skipp if JJ is needed upfield.

If Carranza is any good he'll take Ayew's place, but he's got to show something off the bench. Call it an incentive.

Mav's not our biggest problem by any means. He could win this for us. Sure Jeremy could reach an entirely different level, but we do need to be careful with such a young lad.

How do you do enough when not given a chance out of interest?

People pointing the Nelson’s first half when where he had a bad game, since then has not had a chance. By that logic none of our defeners should be starting.

Mav has been woeful for about 12 months, starts every game and that is not doing him any good. Yes we have to be careful with Monga I agree but he can start the odd game. Currently he is being under used, not playing Monga is putting more pressure in adbul so you need consider the bigger picture. We draw a blank in our last game, had no real attacking intent, marti needs to change it up. I’m not being negative for negative sake, but we need goals and the current set up is not getting them. For me he is being either stubborn or blind to what is happening on match day. If it ain’t broke done fix, currently it is broke, so fix it.

Is Nelson really the answer though the guy was shocking against Huddersfield

You can't write him off after one half.

I think some of the comments about red flags regards Marti are a bit over the top to be honest. Yes I get some people are frustrated that certain players are still in the team and others aren’t in the squad, however we are not seeing these players in training.

Just my thoughts, Soumare is only still in the team because of Ramsey’s red card. Page as promising as he is, isn’t ready to be a starter in the championship, he is very lightweight and needs to develop, he is 17 years old, it would be crazy to start him in a game like this away from home.

Nelson is in competition with Vestergaard and whilst has a higher ceiling, Jannick is in possession of the shirt and has had a very good start to the season.

As for Ayew, I think Carranza isn’t ready for 90 minutes yet, and Daka is muck.

Monga is better suited off the bench for now.

Agree, Nelson can play left or right so has competition from all 3. Would be nice to get him minutes though, how else is he going to compete. I sadly think he'll be off for compensation at the end of his contract.

Hate this logic, every single one of our defenders has been shocking for large periods over the last12 months. Yet they get chance after chance. One half of football and people just writing Nelson off. A young player, with bags of potential, he should be the future, start believing in him.

And who would blame him, maybe that why he is not playing. He has been hugely miss managed and put behind 2 players who have actively tried to leave.

When you are doing well and coasting high on confidence you can afford to take risks starting a young CB low on confidence. I don’t blame Marti given the middling start and likely mountain of pressure he is under from above. Hard to take those risks when you need it to work.

Marti clearly picks a side and then backs it for a few games…. Players need to play without fear

I like the thought that this is the case and think it’s the best way to go.  but yet he dropped Nelson and page, he also has selected Ayew, Soumare and labs relentlessly. I get your point but there comes a time when it must change.

Football is tough, particularly for youngsters. You have to take the limited chances you get. We saw the cup game. Truth is Ben hasn't grabbed the shirt yet. Nobody is ruling him out.

Honestly, limited at the top level as they are, after our wingers the biggest strength in our team is Vesty and Faes. They're (half!) a level above this league. (Obviously too slow to play together against top forwards.)

That'd be very poor of the club because by not investing in Nelson, they're putting pressure on themselves with regards to PSR when they don't make the most of his value

They said we would only buy players who were better than what we had - yet we buy a new striker and he can’t get in.

We didn't buy anyone.
