Saved the club from oblivion, employed Pearson. Doesn't get much better than that.

Well actually, it could and it did - as MON proved previously and Ranieri, Rodgers and others have done since.

No mention on here about how Mandaric also drove "St Nigel" away - to Hull, of all places..

Or how he led us to our first (and hopefully only) descent to the third tier - despite having the Championship's biggest transfer budget that season.

Or of how only an acting masterclass by Harry Redknapp from the dock saved him and Mandaric from doing time for dodging taxes.

Some may cling to the myth that he was Leicester City's "saviour".

Others will continue to see him as a pound shop Marinakis.

Without him employing Pearson the golden age of the club simply does not happen. Don't really care about anything outside of that single decision tbh.

That relegation was the start of things to come.

Maybe some of what you said is correct however you fail to mention that without him we could so easily of gone the same way as Bury. Many people don’t realise how close to extinction this club was when he brought it

He took over full ownership in February 2007 so don't know whether you can really blame him for us getting relegated 2 and a half months later 😅

Milan had his faults, and he demonstrated many of them in that 07/08 season, but imagine thinking we weren't spiralling the drain from 2004-2007 anyway. The club was literally running on fumes before he came in, and I'm not sure we could have survived relegation to League One without his acumen.

Well said, all you really have to look at is, was the club in a better position when he sold it than when he took over it and yes it was, he did his job and will be remembered fondly RIP

RIP MILAN. Saved us and probably saved Pompey too. Was he the first man to appoint Nige?

Tried spending under Sven. Got in Sousa (years ahead of the tippy tappy curve, but shite).

We’d be nowhere without MM.

Goodnignt god bless old man. Rest easy

The bloke saw an opportunity to make a few million (and he did). He sold us to the right folk and we saw something unreal.

everyone still talks about it, was it 5 years ago you won the league? Yeah something like that.

its 10 now, it’ll be 20, 30, 60… they’ll still remember what we did

For balance we went down in 2008, so 14.5 months later

I still remember his first game in control of us. Beat Cov 3-0, Danny Cadamateri bagged at least once, back when N block was massive.

I think him joining us made me join this forum actually

I’m not saying he was the reason, but without him, I think we would be a lot more fecked than we are now. He bought us to make a few quid… spent a load to make more. Didn’t work (Yak etc)

He bought Waghorn, loaned a load. It was better than what we’d had previous at the time.

My Grandad was a Portsmouth fan and effectively ensured I was a Leicester fan - "it's where you were born. End of". We were chuffed when he came here and inspired countless conversation and competitions between us and the rest of the family. RIP Milan.

Sad news.

I’m sure he made bad decisions but he picked us up at a time we were on our arse. I don’t hold him accountable for relegation to League 1, the club was heading that way anyway. Yes it’s a shame we lost the top two tiers record but that season is actually the fondest in my memory (yes even more than 2015/16) as it was just so fun and enjoyable.

And of course, he introduced Leicester and Nige to each other. And for that, I could never dislike Milan.

Only thing I could hold against him is not seeing how the guy he sold us to’s son would turn out!

RIP Milan.
