It's just so frustrating and annoying isn't it? 

 

I know Cifuentes has an average squad (beyond most of the starting XI) but what is going on at half time? 

 

Twice it's happened now at home recently. Do we think the game is done? Are they really that naive to think the opposition won't up their game? 

 

If anyone was looking for a reason why we might not get promoted that is it in a nutshell. 

 

But also mediocre players doing mediocre stuff on the pitch. 

 

It's even more worrying because there's so many other teams that are probably worse on paper but they at least have something about them and have a lot more desire.

Yet again one of the most frustrating teams to follow, because 1 minute they show their ability and next minute they don’t appear to give a damn – well actually I think it is worst than that - they are just that fragile that they just break

 

By the end I thought we deserved nothing – although even more infuriatingly we started to try again on about 85 minutes with Thomas squandering a late chance

Awful performance 2nd half. Look ****ed after 60 mins. No energy whatsoever. No excuse either after an international break where most of the players have effectively had a break.

 

All these draws will cost us massively come the end of the season, especially when the points deduction lands.

 

That one is 100% on Marti. Best not spout the usual crap post match about how he was unhappy with the performance 2nd half and how we weren't professional enough, blah, blah, blah. Heard it all before from him, then the next game it's more of the same. I want it to work out for him, but time isn't on his side. We need to start converting these draws into wins ASAP.

We’re just not that good for the full 90 mins. 
We can’t defend against a team that is physical and presses or counters. 
We’re too cocky. 
 

And our ‘striker’ options are simply dreadful.

And in comparison to the 2nd half, the 1st was good

We quite simply do not have a striker. We all said it will be the difference maker for us as we are solid enough as a core. Carranza isn't it, we didnt do a good enough job finding one. 

We might get lucky as this league is awful, but so are we going forward outside of fatawu doing it all for us.

Another game, probably what, the 50th or 60th game in a row where we can’t put in a complete performance. 
 

it’s literally been YEARS since we were at it from minute one to minute ninety. 
 

it defies logic how you can go from being semi decent in one half to beyond pathetic in the second when Portsmouth didn’t really change anything!  We just decided to come out second half and look less than half arsed.

 

This squad between them are picking up probably a million bags a week, and they consistently serve up shite after shite.

I’ve been relatively optimistic until now. I thought once we got the right players starting and a settled side we might do ok.

 

There were green shoots 1st half against Wrexham. That continued in the second half against Swansea and the 1st half here.

 

But what the hell was that second half???!!!!??? A lack of quality all over the pitch. A dreadful and really worrying performance. 

I don’t know where to start analysing that. My conclusion right now is that we have a distinct lack of quality all over the pitch and I’d probably overrated our players and our chances. 
 

Back to square one after that!

Whilst the bench didn't look great, it wasn't the subs that let Portsmouth back into the game.

Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!

 

So much better than the opposition technically yet so much poorer in desire and commitment. We are so so fragile. It's been so frustrating for so long. The second half moment that sums us up was the ball slipping under Ayews foot and out of play for a throw.

 

It's like the whole team mentally breaks when something goes wrong. No wonder they aren't Prem quality players.
