The odds only really tend to mean something when someone's a clear odds on favourite. There's probably just been some money flowing around on Smith over the last few hours. Could mean something. Could mean nothing.

Steve Walsh coming back asTD and Dean Smith as manager ……announcements this week is my guess

No idea what your information is but you do tend to make a sweeping statement like this on a different subject every week 😂.

winning trophies in Scotland is not an achievement. At all. They literally have just one club to compete against!

the championship however is a very competitive division, you get promoted from that, it’s worthy of notice.

If that's the case then Martin should have strolled it in the SPL then? Going by your logic..

Interesting in space just three days Dean Smith went from 33/1 to 16/1 now favourite for the job.

Top lumping cash on to save King Power.

Smith was totally underwhelming last time. I felt he did very little to improve us and I’d be disappointed if it’s him

Fair point

Weird comment and odd it’s got 5 likes.

If Smith was in charge for 10 games like he should’ve been, rather than 8 then we would’ve survived.

I genuinely think it could be Enzo. Is Rowett going to come out and say it's an ambitious appointment and we end up with Dean Smith!!!

Enzo will be at Juventus, Napoli or Inter before July…not Leicester.

It really isn’t.

It is if you don't only buy into an average points per game as a given for success or failure.

Smith came in with one job, survival. It was still achievable with 8 games to go. He won just 2 of those 8 games in charge. He failed.
Therefore, it is a fair point for some to be underwhelmed if he joins again, especially with a similar mission of avoiding another relegation.

John Terry improved his handicap

What worries me with Deano is that the board must have found him to be a 'Yes' man and didn't ruffle any feathers - exactly what we don't need.

His judgement on bringing in Terry too.

I don't actually mind Dean Smith, but he seems like a Mr Nice Guy, and we just had that under Cifuentes and the players just didn't respond, and as you say, seems like he could be another 'Yes' man for Rudkin and Top.

I still think we need someone who will be much tougher with the players and get them running again. Not to be confused with RVN 'toughness'... as that was never going to work in the Premier League and with no staff around him.

Very few options out there though.

Southgate😂

Loathed watching England under him and was relieved when he left, never would I have seen him as a coup for us until now.

That speaks volumes.

We can’t even throw season tickets at him because of mobile ticketing.

The thing about Southgate, he could likely build something here, especially bringing through youth players. He certainly has connections and likely has a deep knowledge of some of the brightest young talents across England.

I think whilst he would be unlikely to instantly inspire a fanbase and it would be a slow burn, it might be what we need most as a club right now. Similar to how Pearson, Shakey and Walsh rebuilt us from rock bottom.

I think we could do worse right now.

I would be surprised if he joined though, as to go from England Manager to a potential relegation to League 1, would be a big risk for any Manager to take.

The previous poster suggested that Smith didn’t improve us, which is objectively untrue. If you feel underwhelmed by the idea of him rejoining that’s fine, but the suggestion that he didn’t make us better is nonsense, as the facts show.

if we are being pedantic, then he actually said 'very little' to improve us, which with just 2 wins in 8, I can't really argue with, especially with some very winnable games in those final 8.

I get the 8 games previous point though and that showed how toxic Rodgers had become, but I still don't see how people can say that Smith did much to improve us considering the calibre of players we still had back then. Different story now of course, but certainly can see why he would still be seen as an underwhelming appointment by some.
