I strongly disagree. In the Series so far the Aussies have dug in as they always do and played Test Cricket, or at least tried to

In this test?

Carey admitting in the interview that he felt that he hit it and yet didn't walk - it isn't great.

If you add to that what he thought was ok to do to Bairstow, he's coming across as someone not to be admired.

Have no issue with players not walking in professional cricket, it's the umpire's job to give the decision, and human error notwithstanding the DRS system has shown itself to be pretty reliable.

However, when the Aussies still to this day go on about Broad not walking 12 years ago, it's not a great look for them.

Still winds me up that the Aussies conveniently ignore that Broad nicked the ball to the keeper who deflected it to first slip, they act as if he middled it straight to Clarke.

I always thought that players who knew they’d nicked it should walk when the bowling team opt for review

but this cock up shows they should hold their ground.

given the stick that var gets, it’s reassuring to see that cricket is also capable of being crap aswell.

That's what really gets me. He knew he was out, knew it went for review but was hoping (perhaps he knew - tin hat time) that DRS was going to fail. It's not the first time DRS has been iffy in this series in  Australia's favour. Very disappointing.

I don't really have a problem with Carey not walking though. No one does these days. The (wrong) snicko mic was in the stumps next to the umpire - I've more of a problem he didn't hear what was clearly a fairly clear noise (travelled 22 yds to the mic).  I wonder if there had been no DRS whether he would have given it.

Bairstow was being dozy and literally nobody walks nowadays. He's no better or worse than anyone else at that level.

I think it IS worse if you don't walk, then brazenly admit later on that you felt it it hit the bat but didn't walk.

But its all about opinions, I guess.

Why on god's green earth is ****ing carse opening the bowling with Archer? And why aren't they pitching it up? We don't want to win.

Get this last wicket soon then bat through until tomorrow tea. Get 500+ on the board and we've got half a chance.

It's not impossible. We've got the ability, just got to bat with intelligence. Oh well.  It's going to be grim in the field today - they have to keep them out there.

Need to wait for Boland to get his 50 first

Swanny’s ultra confidence in our batting on this batters paradise can only end in embarrassment can’t it ?
I’d love us to get the 600 he mentioned, but it seems unlikely.

Pleased for Archer. The whole "going quick when the game was lost" thing was weird, but he's a cut above everyone else in our squad and works his arse off.

Gets unfair stick that others wouldn't get. Even in this day and age, you do wonder why that might be...

He bowled extremely well yesterday and had to watch while all his work was undone by Carse (in particular) bowling like a ****.
