Whats the bloke to do? 2 reds in two games, hardly any experience and could say tonight he got it wrong but this is all on the players. Hes a lamb to the slaughter. Blokes too nice though and that's thr problem for years.

People need to lay off King. He knows he isn’t ready. He doesn’t even want the position. He has been thrown into a position over his head by the two absolute oxygen thief’s running this club.

King has done a lot more for this club that those two combined.

He is good to have in the club but should not be managing the first team quite clearly.

Thats on the DoF and the board for taking too long to find a replacement. It's now worse than when we sacked Marti. King has been thrown to the wolves. He doesn't want it, he wanted it for 1 2 max. Not 3 possible more.

As I said in another thread, I would respect King if he resigns. Leave Rudkin completely exposed. We're down, it's fate. Doesn't matter who is in charge.

Awkward

Poor chap?

I feel more sorry for the supporters that have got to endure another week of King.

Changes and tactics were absolutely criminal.

I feel for him. We should not have sacked Marti when we did. The timing was terrible. The window was closing. It is obvious now there was no plan to replace him. The points deduction was on the horizon. I said that it would be very risky for those reasons.

Relegation is a very distinct possibility. We really are in a terrible place and defeats like last night are going to be very hard to recover from.

Get some one in who has been there and done it and stop the rot. At half time (as well as we had played) I really wanted a clean sheet to prove to prove to them they could do it. The capitulation showed how weak/gutless we are.

If Neil Warnock is up for it, give him it until the summer. I can't think of anyone else realistically who has enough about them to keep us up. I am not a huge fans of his tactics but he does know how to make the best of a bad lot and that is what we are. He would make us win ugly but I do think he would get us the points to stay up.

The players need to be banned from seagrave until we get a clean sheet win.

World class facilities and they’re ****ing shit.

They can **** off with their little wash bags and sliders and get back down to Beauvoir drive or even a lesser training facility.

Genuinely feel sorry for Kingy. Ran through brick walls for this club and clearly has a deep affection for it.

So it must be soul destroying to work with this current squad who don’t seem to give a crap

Yes...  he is a young manager and this loss will hit him hard

Andy King could have tried anything last night and that bunch of shysters would have let him down. He clearly saw the signs as we all did, that Southampton were taking control with almost zero resistance. They were just steamrolling through us at will. He did what most serious managers would have done, try to regroup and shut up shop. Unfortunately it backfired because this bunch are so useless mentally and professionally that that decision didn't create any resistance either. If Andy King made any mistakes then they pale into insignificance when placed beside the players inadequacies. It's pretty much odds on that, if he'd gone down the route of a more attacking stance, the opposition would still have walked through, and probably found it easier. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. In my opinion, Andy King should not take any blame for that sh*t show.

I have just listened to Kingys interview and I am not so sure the passive 2nd half was an instruction, I think there is a general apathy and complacency in the squad and I think the players thought the job was done and they could just stroll through the 2nd half controlling the game at a snails pace and have a nice easy 2nd half.

Kingy actually says the instructions at half time were to carry on playing as they were.

I would also say this managerial situation needs resolving today, if no manager is close to being appointed then he needs some support, he needs an experienced Assistant alongside him, Aiyawatt and Rudkin have thrown him under a bus and he doesn’t deserve that.

Kingy is far from our biggest problem BUT an experienced and pro-active manager does not throw that lead away.

He might have not said to be so passive in the second half but his subs and changes gave all the momentum to Southampton.

Keeping Thomas on the pitch when 1) out of his depth and 2) clearly blowing are down to Kingy.

Maybe that's a fair criticism (definitely valid) but he probably got told at the last minute that he was in charge of pre season, with no experience or coaches to lean on to sort it. We actually played with some intensity under him as well so not sure it is down to him.

Yet again though, no accountabilty from these players to look at themselves and realise they're not fit enough.

Completely agree in regards to the players. I’ve said multiple times beyond just this season that nothing will change for whoever is in charge until this crop of players leave

Potentially, 99% of the time pre season is planned months in advance and seem to follow a similar structure other than locations - were likely the 1% that had nothing sorted.

I think he suddenly realised in the 2nd half if we won, Top would give him the job permanently!

You saw the look of fear flash across his face and so he masterminded an exceptional piece of sabotage to force the team to defend knowing they are incapable of it just to make sure he doesn’t get the job

Changes and tactics aside, they weren’t right. Are you for real?

A man who has won league 1, championship and the premier league with this club. Who is in the beginning of his coaching career and has been hung out to dry by the ineptitude at board room level.

To use the words endure for a club legend shows a complete level of disrespect and a lack of understanding of the position we are in.

Every manager will fail here until we’re sold. Tactics and changes can’t change the spineless, unaccountable culture that has been built here.

Almost like he is an inexperienced young coach thrown into a job he doesn’t want and isn’t ready for

Anyone blaming King is a muppet

Fault and responsibility aren't the same thing.

King is a fault for the poor tactical changes however the owner is responsible for putting him in a position his not ready for.

Lack of accountability is why we are in our current state.
