Absolutely a crazy bonker decision. Against a team that have just won 3 on the bounce and scoring for fun and their right midfielder is in great form.  Hamza on the left was worse in my opinion, hes never where he should be..so he ripped the back 4 to bits, constant tinkering, never lets the team settle, before another square peg is forced into a round hole. He not living up to his manifesto when he first signed, hes worse than starmer! Hes just another stubborn RVN , and clueless

I totally agree that Marti is a lower end Championship manager and his tactics tonight made no sense given Saints have been looking so good on the counter. But in terms of personnel, that back 4 sadly picked itself, given Okoli, Nelson, Souttar, Thomas and VK are all unavailable. We could have played Ricky P but it’s a huge risk to select him for 2 games in 4 days and in any case, much as I love him, he was probably our worst player against Stoke.

Aluko looked ok up until he was booked then I think we could all see what was going to happen. Just such a shame for him.

He’s got a lot to learn, like, you’re on your own son!

One game closer to these lot of mercenaries walking a way on a free. Nobody is dumb enough to take them off our hands so we might aswell write off the next 3/4 years.

Its embarrassing what we’ve turned into.

Kind of inevitable after employing Cooper to replace "a work in progress" in Enzo IMO! Complex I know but that's the Leicester way!

Just to cheer you up with a bit of schadenfreude:

I could have cashed out for £130 at half time, but couldn’t believe they wouldn’t score in the 2nd half.

They can’t even win a bet against them!!

Granted he wasn’t great but ‪but manager should be bedding him in though. Both Thomas and Kristiensen have had stinker after stinker. No excuse, this lad should have about 100 mins under his belt this year. That’s on the manager. ‬his first minute should  not be against Southampton. Joke

In the mean time we'll bring some more garbage in and the cycle is preserved. Thomas new contract for example.

Glad he looked ok for those 5 minutes then.

The futures bright.

I remember the crowd singing 'we want our Leicester back' under Rodgers.

****ing morons. We've gotten it.

With respect, the morons were those that didn't realise that this is the trajectory Rodgers had us on. We never got our Leicester back.

Aluko wasn't out of his depth. He looked a vast improvement physically and technically on Thomas.

Difference is Thomas had Jonny Evans in his ear for his first 40 odd games. Evans could've talked me through a game.

Aluko was key down tonight. By the ref, the manager and  the centre halves (I noticed after an early block he made for a corner nobody tapped him to say well done. I shouted at the TV so)

Agree. Already seen a few giving a load of rubbish about feeling stupid and whatnot despite Thomas being no better all season. Just simply unfortunate what happened to him tonight although he has ****ed up on the second yellow. But a totally predictable situation as well.

Cifuentes is trying to patch up his previous errors but it's too late. He threw Nelson in for two games in a week after not kicking a ball for months despite his previous injury record and the alternatives being the hateful lot that they are. Predictably he goes down injured fairly quickly. He's done the same with Aluko now - hand forced somewhat but it shouldn't have taken Thomas getting suspended to give Aluko a go and now he's given probably the toughest assignment of the season, and then screwed over by his team mate in the first five minutes.

And yet a lot of people on here, and probably the management, will think the alternative is reverting back to the old guard who have just played like absolute shit virtually all season anyway.

It's so bleak.

Honestly don't mind a bit of positivity on here but the way people talk about certain players because there's been a push for them to play by some is laughable.

That's Thomas tonight and he has 20 new pages calling him a competition winner.

Thomas is and always will be a steady 6/10 for most games. Some people will get upset by that comment but he’s basically a squad rotation type left back.

He is never going to set the world on fire, especially in whatever system we are attempting to play under Cifuentes.

Alunko showed athleticism which Thomas doesn’t have. The fact we all knew what was going to happen and called it, just shows how clueless Cifuentes is as a manager.

The entire defence is a mess though.

Despite the game itself, the most embarrassing thing is some of our ‘fans’ actually celebrating Aluko getting sent off to claim they are right not to want youth players in!

Embarrassing and pathetic to go with everything else wrong with this club.

Did that happen? Extraordinary if so…

In the match thread there were posts about playing your players, hope you’re happy with laughing emoji’s and such.

People obviously against giving the youth players a chance and taking great delight in them failing. Likely the same people who wouldn’t shut up for months about Nelson’s first half at Huddersfield and probably also the same people who say Vestergaard is a good defender at this level and has been our best player this season etc.

Time to write this season off.

Nothing to look forward to other than avoiding relegation.

i dont think we will. 12 pt deduction + lose abdul to burnley or some equivalent team in Jan and we are relegation material. I genuinely believe that.

We know how it’s come to this but how has it come to this? Even when we win it feels hollow because we know it’s just papering over the increasingly widening cracks but this loss yesterday? Christ. Why bother? Why spend your time, money and energy on a bunch of players and an owner who clearly doesn’t and don’t give a shit about us or the shirt or the club. They just don’t care. How can some of our fans have so little self respect that they’re applauding the players off or sticking up for Aiyawatt and King Power regardless. Is the Stockholm Syndrome that entrenched that you just clap like performing monkeys and copy and paste ‘be careful what you wish for, we were in league one once’ into every reply on social media. Well guess what, we’ll be there again fairly soon so time to think of another phrase to defend the cult leader with.

It’s all so utterly pointless.

Top post.

I remember going to Fratton Park in 2010 and being humiliated and losing 6-1 but I knew that once we unpicked the error of Sousa that we’d be ok.

We could (and should) sack Marti but nothing will improve.

Our wage bill is out of control, we have the same dossers in charge who created this and have zero scouting network so will continue to just overpay awful players from lazy agent referrals.

We are the most boring team in the league. The incessant useless passing between the CB s and FB is pointless. There’s usually about a dozen passes, with the defenders gradually moving nearer to the keeper, the ball is then played back to him who by now is under pressure, and hoofed upfield to no one in particular. Possession lost again. The tactics are non existent unless you count the above as a tactic. The manager seems to be the only person who cannot see that James is our strongest midfielder who should and can be the player driving forward and moving the attacks. So, where does he play? At no 10 where the ball rarely arrives and there’s little scope for moving the attacks. He’s a box to box player who is being limited to hoping that the ball at sone point, comes his way. I’m fed up watching teams attack us by simply playing direct football and we don’t seem to be aware that this is a good idea!
