That's unfair.  I don't want L1, but any that do see it as part of a process of renewal.  We all want what is best for the club.

People assume it’s some gimme, that you get promoted quick

Sunderland Birmingham Ipswich

Charlton, 4/5 seasons

Bolton 6 seasons and a trip to league 2

Portsmouth 7 seasons

Am I right in saying that if we was to get relegated to League 1 we could then spend 400 million on a new team and not be affected by PSR what so ever?

If that's the case its probably a great idea. The majority of the high earners leave end of this window.

Its a great opportunity to bring youth talent through and give them game time whilst also buying a very good team.

I'd rather not take the risk thou and actually stay up and get some wins together and aim for the play offs its not impossible

I asked this question an hour ago.I don’t know what effect the rolling PSR distaster seasons would have on a season or two in league one,and would the owner be able to get the cheque book out again?

Id take it, just for nothing more than MAYBE being able to watch us put a performance in that dominates the opposition.

The only worry is, is League One low enough for this bunch of muppets to exert any form of dominance?

It might be misguided but I'm just saying those that want relegation want it for renewal not spite.

No.  Whilst a rebuild from the ground up sounds good as an FM player, it's not realistic in today's game.  Financial restrictions, players wages, general club expenditure etc. make it an absolute nightmare and once you go down there's no guarantee if you'll rebuild in the right way in the next 5 or 10 years.  You have to try to survive each year and make incremental improvements.

  • League One and League Two Clubs follow the Salary Cost Management Protocol (“SCMP”) These state that Clubs can only spend a fixed percentage of its revenue on player wages etc. This limit can also be added to or impacted by equity injections or net transfer spend.

Of course not, but if we do we do. Following a club does not entitle you to success. We will see changes come what may at the end of this season. Hopefully they will improve the current apathy of our players. We need committed players. We need committed fans too.

Why stop at league 1? Let's go down and win  league 2!

Seriously, who wants to get relegated that's not going to solve anything for anyone.

Short sighted

the club would be on its arse

It’s been built and reliant on Tv money for the previous 10 odd years and was still living beyond its means

even when all the high earners go the average wage in league one is 7k we probably have crappy youngsters on double that

players on nice long juicy contracts like

Skipp

Okoli

Thomas

Fatawu

to 29

Mavididi

VK

to 28

Faes

Jannick

BCDR

Choudary

to 27

Thanks

So in theory the owner can inject funds punishment free?

How do they calculate income. Is it over the previous season or rolling seasons?

I can find all this out myself of course. It’s just that i can’t think of another team that has gone on such a financial nose dive as Leicester have and ended up in League 1 since PSR has been introduced.Wrexham and Birmingham obviously had funds but clean slates.

Absolutely not. Why would anyone want to see us relegated? Unfortunately **** Power will still be in charge either way, so I'd rather they weren't doing more damage in L1. That could be almost irreversible

Where would we get £400m with our muppets in charge we would be lucky to get £40

Top owns the club personally, now they have a competent CEO there will be no multi-million bailouts.

In League One the losses are unsustainable, he’ll be far more hated than he already is, he’ll have to sack a load of non-playing staff, the media attention on his negligence is worse.

I don’t think he necessarily sells the club either but it becomes financially untenable over the long term

Who is that?

This sounds a crazy question on the surface but I'm finding myself so disillusioned that if I had a choice right now,  I'd want this muck banished to L1 so they have that etched on their CV for all time and it might give us a chance of a genuine reset.

I remember the day we got relegated last time, 0-0 V Stoke going down at the expense of Cov staying up (it's funny how we could go down this time with them in the story again)

It feels so different this time though.  The amount of energy that relegation absorbed last time was ridiculous - I remember praying to stay up and I'm not even religious, I remember crying after the match. I remember being in literal shock after the match. We were absolutely the pits back then too but I had pride and cared about the club still, even with the clown Holloway in charge.

It's just so weird how I can feel so strong last time about staying up and then being the opposite this time and was wondering what other people thought about relegation.

Isn't this the same crap as 'maybe getting relegated from the Premier league is just what we need'

That has been proven ludicrous but the takeaway of proponents of that position is that maybe a trip to league one is now what's needed!

I look forward to the posts about maybe a relegation to league two is whats required.

Do the 10% of people who voted yes to relegation to league one just hate the club? Football? Life? Everything? Who knows!

If you answer 'yes' to this question then you're not a Leicester fan. Plain and simple. Fans don't want their teams to get relegated.

Always wondered what a cuckold looked like.

Cheers.

I certainly don't want it, but I'm mentally prepared for it. The points deduction really is do - or - die for our Championship status and could decide our future for the next ten years, if not more.

The fact I'm writing that last sentence sums up just what a vile situation this ownership has driven us to. Like others have said though, we could be sat in the freezing water watching the Titanic disappear below the surface and Top would still probably not bother selling.

It all feels hopeless. There's way more riding on the decisions the board make in the next 6 months than just what division we find ourselves in.

Yes as it’s the only way out of this mess !
Success or any stability will only prolong the suffering for us all

League 1 may just push him to sell up and call it a day and then we can all move on !

my emotional response  (as in previous posts) is yes in the hope that it triggers the exit of kP, rudders and all the other charlatans in supposed leadership positions at the club, but my head on reflection says absolutely not. Football is a money orientated industry and being in L1 would be seriously bad for us and might even force the sale of the training ground or worse the demise of the club. It is therefore a definite no, phoenix from the ashes stories are mostly fiction and not something to rely on.
