Not especially considering the freezing temperatures, treacherous road conditions and a Monday televised match on a work/school night just after new year

Would those factors have come into play if it had been a PL game against say Arsenal and LCFC were say 19th in the table?

Yeah but what was really the reason for the low crowd. The boycott or Corriedale? Nobody will ever know. One of life’s mysteries…

The thing is, maybe some people did the boycott but also watched corriedale. I know id rather watch Corriedale than the shite we serve up 🤣

Worrying? There was a boycott, it was -5, it was the first monday back to work and school, and the football is so dire at the moment that norovirus is a far more welcome alternative.

The attendance is pretty much what everyone thought it was going to be. In the ground you could hear people having chats many rows back.

The attendance on Monday is the least of my worries. I'm more concerned about seeing some positive change and getting things sorted.

genuinely don't get this line, first day back after two weeks off, the "oh god, another year of this" feeling, football in the evening would be very appealing

It’s the principle that anyone would think, hmm, I don’t support the boycott but I’m going to stay at home to watch Corriedale that I find amusing, and how this is being pushed (along with the weather and back to work/school) as a viable reason for having about 12.5k home fans there!

My sons first day back to school was the Tuesday as Monday was a teacher training day. It was an 8pm kick off and we live in Harborough. Even with the low attendance making it easier to get out he didn't get to bed till 11.30 - not great preparation for his first day back at school after Christmas. Anyone further out would have been getting home much later. It was a terrible kick off time for families.

Yeh its ridiculous mate. The Top fans just won't accept any kind of negativity towards the club. We've had games with bad weather etc before and never seen them kind of crowds. Guarantee that if this was done again but when the weather is better, it might not be as low as the WBA game but would still be a noticeably low crowd. Hopefully people keep doing it amd eventually Top remembers that he is our owner and stops titting around with horses!

I know several of the stewards there, they told me that they were expecting a crowd of around 16k.

Looking around this seemed to be a realistic figure.

This is what baffles me. I understand sth's have paid so they aren't going to do a long term boycott but I can't understand anyone buying general sale tickets. I stopped buying them when the club started fcking around saying you couldn't buy tickets if you didnt have a membership. I've got 20 years of booking history, why the frig do i need a membership. As soon as they realised attendances were dropping, I started getting emails saying I could buy tickets again on general sale.  Nah you're alright thanks, I'll wait until the club is competently run thanks.

This has been such a problem and the club are so oblivious to it.

They should have been doing everything to keep fans interested, even when things were going well, but they've pushed people away and are now suffering the consequences.

What other clubs actually refuse to sell tickets to their own fans?

I fully get this, the fixture list, i.e. lack of Saturday 3pm KOs is atrocious.

Even if I had a ST I’d prob have gone to a max of 4-5 games so far.

There’s certainly far more reasons for people disliking life at LCFC these days than just a poorly run club

8th January 2006. FA Cup Third Round. Spurs at home. Less 20k. Live on the box on a Sunday evening. Kids back at school day after.

Pretty sobering that the apathetic nature around the club is similar to that period

Loved that night. Brilliant comeback and completely unexpected.

I totally get that when we were in the prem, sths and members get priority but after that, any tickets left should be on general sale. How are we supposed to get new, younger fans into LCFC if they can't even get a ticket. The club has got so many things wrong over the past few years and the ticketing being one of the main ones. I've never been a sth as its not possible for me with work and the fact I live in the north West, but up until last season (excluding covid) I've been to games every single season since 1997, but now the club has made me lose all interest in going. A combination of the ticketing mess, and such a poor, under performing squad, i just don't feel like wasting my time and money.

I understand there was some ‘transparency’ on this in the FCC meeting yesterday and 12.5k was confirmed. Wonder if that will make its way into the minutes.

Well if it doesn't what's the point of it being said. So much smoke & mirrors all the time

Anyone even mentioning other factors for that attendance are morons.

We never dropped below 18k even on Tuesday nights in championship 05.

16k was lowest for league one on Tuesdays.

Can’t underestimate that back then, Corrie and Emmerdale were purely stand alone programmes

The sad thing was that all the talk of Corriedale made me stick it on.

The sadder thing was I enjoyed it.

What do we reckon the availability of season tickets will be like next season?

Seems people are all Barry Big Balls when it comes to not attending (despite the seat already being paid for) and this waiting in the concourse for 14 minutes nonsense....why not 15 minutes or 45 minutes? Only way the club suffers is if they don't sell enough season tickets and judging by the number who don't have the guts to give up (in case the tide suddenly turns) and the waiting list (which must be getting shorter and shorter) nothing changes.

Sure it’ll be easier than of late, but they are (per match) excellent value for existing holders, it’s almost daft to give them up………mine is under £20 per match, concession mind
