Nolucklcfc Posted 13 January Posted 13 January It’s just difficult to have any genuine confidence when you know a QPR, Sheffield United, Hull, is only just around the corner. Especially as there is an innate mental weakness in this club at the moment. 1

Yang is highly rated and impressed against us earlier in the season. Esse was fantastic for Millwall last season and cost Palace a lot, he seems like an Eze type signing. In my opinion, these are the kinds of players we should target. However, we are currently pursuing Antonio and Wilson to complement Ayew and BDR.

Hardly won anything of note in their crap existence Tbf don't get the "you've won nothing" as that's not what supporting your team is about. They've been through horrific times recently. It would be mental seeing them back in the PL. I think this is the biggest game of both our seasons, no point in playing it down. I just hope our management and players are aware.

lcfc278 Posted 13 January Posted 13 January A lot of Cov fans at work saying this is our 'cup final' because they're top of the league and suddenly that means the last 20/30 years history means nothing.

Feck all near their ground and their fans are genuinely scum. We parked in the retail park last time got loads of bother after the game, it genuinely is their cup final old bill their are useless too.

Started of at highfield very toxic between both sets of fans! But that’s how a derby should be under 20 miles apart You haven't seen trouble at the city ground? Always been way worse there, although not as bad last couple of visits.

I’m interested to know if you went highfield road? I know a lot of fans especially wigston area who put cov down as there number one rivals it’s the same as me, for me personally there was a lot more hatred going to highfield road in The late 90s then to forest I don't, but neither do most of Leicester fans. So it's a bit hard to signify it as most important based on the lovely fans we have in Hinckley and the surrounding areas.

This means more to them than it does us! Look at the posters they put up on the M69. Anybody who has fans that wear hats with tassels on are weird inbreds are far as I’m concerned

Rubbersoul Posted 13 January Posted 13 January (edited) I know we were down to 10 but that second half at their place the other year was genuinely VILE. Saying that, weren’t we fairly comfortable until someone made a mistake? I have tried to block that game out of my mind. Edited 13 January by Rubbersoul

Against a side low on confidence, can only rely on moments of magic from 1 or 2 players, and a defence that can keep a clean sheet for love nor money. Not to mention a manager under the cosh who doesn't know when or which changes to make at the right time. Even if we were to miraculously take a 1 or 2 goal lead, absolutely no faith we'd keep it. So yeah, not confident if you can't tell To be fair we have heard all this before in threads like Ipswich and Derby ones and gone out and won. It's a waste of time trying to guess what we are going to play like but that in itself is a disgrace and why so many feel such a disconnect to this club now. 2
StanSP Posted 13 January Posted 13 January 9 minutes ago, Gamble92 said: To be fair we have heard all this before in threads like Ipswich and Derby ones and gone out and won That's true and I'll admit I've been culpable! But for all those performances, which were decent, there's the absolute guff we've thrown up against sides like Southampton, Sheff Utd, QPR, Hull etc. The good performances sadly aren't the norm and I don't trust the group of players, or the manager, to get psyched up for this kind of game against such an attacking side.

Cincinnati Fox Posted 13 January Posted 13 January i am originally from the Hinckley area and rarely saw Cov fans or had them at school. They are just another team for me, but their fans are oddly obsessed with us, so naturally, you remember them a bit more than, say, a similar-sized/history clubs like Cardiff or Wigan. They are certainly run better than us right now, but I think they will bottle the league title. Lampard is a little too intense, and it will get to them. They probably will still get 2nd given how shite the league is this year.
dayday Posted 13 January Posted 13 January 9 hours ago, Gamble92 said: It's definitely bigger than it once was. Rivalries happen naturally. No one can change the hate I have for Forest. I don't see the Coventry game ever having the same magnitude. The bollocks about not caring is tiring and clearly not true. I had Derby fans telling me the Leeds game means more to them and they sold half the tickets for that game than they did for ours. Says it all. Coventry were impossible to have any real hated for for so long because we have always been better than them in most fans lifetimes. There seems to be more of a bite to playing these than Forest these days , that’s just my opinion
