Foodbank - Charlton (H)

We will hold our 9th annual foodbank collection ahead of the home game against Charlton on Jan 31.

 

The Bridge continue to provide vital support for the most marginalised people in our City. Physical items, cash and card donations will all be accepted on the day.

Really hope the state of the club doesnt affect what the charity receive too much. They still need as much support as possible and it's a great cause.

Is there a preferred amount at all or any sort of fee's you guys have to pay that I should factor into my donation at all? I don't want to give you guys £20 for example and Paypal take £2 or someting. I would give enough to cover the fee's if that was the case.

Give whatever you can is all most of us would say. If you're sending via PayPal, just be sure to select 'Friends & Family' as then PayPal won't take a fee - unless there's currency conversion involved.

I don't quite understand sorry, we'll be accepting donations from 11.30 to 12.15, and probably a bit later depending on how much stuff we have to move to the van.

My daughter has been working in Aldi in her gap year and she’s just informed me that she’s used the majority of her £45 Christmas voucher from them to get things for the food bank.

I’m all for food banks/helping others etc but does frustrate me when most of those that are ‘vulnerable’ can afford to smoke 20 fags a day,

have 3 dogs,2 cats and a goldfish,

aswell as 6 kids dressed in designer gear(although purchased from ingoldmells market)

I work next to a national food charity and see it for myself everyday,

staff often take there pick of the best stuff aswell,

so I’m not trying to be funny either,

just sharing what I see everyday and it’s a shame those in actual need go without at the expense of others who just live of handouts
