Doesn't really matter tbh. Could have been a few yards back, a few yards towards touch, he'd still have sunk it. Immense kicker.

He didn't even look nervous.

Why did England give away possession with just a few minutes to go.

Well, that was daylight robbery.

England definitely raised their game, feel for the Irish who should have the title right now.

Thanks for the sentiment but I have no complaints with France winning the championship, best team in Europe for me.

England showed a bad run of games after a 12 match winning run doesnt mean they're a bad team

We showed the chat of us being in decline is premature for now at least

I dont get why they didnt just recycle the ball for the minute and a half left, easier said than done I guess

Guess they didn't want to risk giving away a penalty in that area, kicking it would force France to make territory of their own in the few seconds remaining - which unfortunately they did.

I do hesitate before making the point again because the difference in attitudes towards the refs in football and rugby is both critically important and valued - but I think it's reasonably simple to judge that the officiating was the critical difference in that match.

There's a fair few people who should feel hard done by tonight.

Makes me even more proud of the Scotland performance last week that dismantled the back to back champions.

Feel for Ireland, but congrats to Wales also, baby steps but it’s a start.

I think you're exaggerating a bit personally.

Yes the penalty try and yellow was on the harsher side but it wasn't unwarranted. You've definitely seen them given.

He was equally impatient with both teams. France's yellow at the end came about very, very quickly and should have been enough for England to win.

It wasn't a brilliant ref performance but it wasn't a match winning / losing one.

Fair to say, though I would posit that the first of those decisions was far more significant in terms of the game than the second.

Just a bit frustrating that it came to that in the first place - but then, pretty much this entire tournament has been frustrating for England, most of it self-inflicted but not, I think, wholly in this case.

Have you seen the high tackle decision again? That decision was literally a "match winning / losing" decision and was a very controversial call.

It was quite telling that the Television Coverage from the French didn't provide any replays of the incident in the stadium or to the British broadcasters
