Apart from the players that we will know will be leaving in the summer, and the players that need to get of the wage budget. What players do you think could do a job in League 1 that could get us promoted at the first point of call?

Posted

Don't care about promotion. If we do go down we would have to lean fully into our youth and development setup to get me back on board.

Sell all saleable assets such as Fatawu, Khannouss, etc then mutual contract terminations for the rest of the first team failures (as we can't have the toxicity they bring in and around our club anymore) in order to be able to afford to keep our homegrown saleable assets (Nelson, Page, Monga, etc.

                          Stolarczyk

Aluko.     Nelson.   Wilson-Brown.  Thomas

                  Page.       Braybrooke.

Thomas.              Alves.                     Monga.

                              Evans.

Subs:

Bausor

Joseph

Choudhury

Cartwright

Golding

Marcal

Popov

Opoku

Pennant

Several others I've probably missed. Any notable ones?

We could add a few young hungry football league players and if Lascelles or someone similar was up to and for the challenge of staying and captaining them then they could be considered.

God forbid we have a team with a similar age of journeymen in League One.

That would be phoenix club time.

Can we please stop with these reactionary ****ing panic threads? We've got a thread for League One already which is, tbh, hopefully just over the top but after the points deduction it's probably worth leaving open.

This is months premature and just makes you look like you need to touch some grass.

Give it a rest for real.

Hell of an understatement.

Merge this thread with that if you're that bothered. 🤷‍♂️

Incredible understatement considering we have just lost back to back home games against relegation rivals.

Some fans still cant see the wood for the trees, it's February and we are above the relegation zone on goal difference whilst being in relegation form without a manager.

After 22/23 we surely cant still be as blinkered as a fan base to see that relegation is not only a possibility, it's more likely than us finishing in the top half of the table. Yet you still have some fans talking about the playoffs.

Monga ain't playing in League 1. Neither is Nelson.

You think Rudkin is more poisonous than Top? Who do you think signs off on the budgets and is responsible for Rudkin being in a job?

Guaranteed first team football with your boyhood club and enough money to keep them happy from players sales might lead to them giving us one season down there, under the right set up.

I don't have faith in us to do that, but they are both young enough for it to be a great learning experience and cement them as club legends if they did.

Hopefully  neither  is Hamza or Thomas

That is their current level to be fair and they could kick on from it as good squad players.

Top is more of a simpleton than poisonous I'd say.

Rudkin is the one that has snaked his way up to the top by building a bonfire of all the better men that were once around him.

Obviously ultimate responsibility lies with Top to see through that though.
