Ended up with this sack of shit.

Meanwhile Brian Barry Murphy ends up as a championship manager, nominated by the EFL for the Manager of the Season awards and has been linked to the Strasbourg and Celtic jobs.

I feel it's a lot different going into Cardiff compared to taking over our side though. Cardiff were second favourites for a reason (I know they led the league earlier in the season but have ended up 2nd).

That said, I never rated Cifuentes as a manager and was surprised (well not too much given our board) when he got the job having done nothing aside from keep QPR lower to mid table.

Meh we were 5th favourites for promotion going into the season with a potential points deduction to be factored in.

4/1

It would probably cost money and nobody else is going to come in and keep us up. What would be the benefit?

He is contracted for 4 games - its nothing surely.

Should have got him gone and brought Pearson in.

As ever in recent years, the manager is far from the biggest problem at Leicester City FC. There are far bigger issues above and below the manager.

There is zero leadership or strategy at the club which was compounded when Top sacked Cooper because of player power.

The players have no respect for the managers especially with some of our recent appointments, now we have the tail wagging the dog.

Think they sacked Cooper because he was actually really crap

I've always presumed it was a bit of both. Rumours were that Cooper was not hands on at all and coupled with the fact that Cooper didnt play the Maresca way likely meant that the players opinions swayed the club more than it probably should have.

I think Cooper was more of a wet blanket that most realise.

You can say that again. ;)

Don't think Top is necessarily distracting a style or formation now, but perhaps influenced a lot of the purchasing strategy which has left us with a squad incapable of doing anything else. Ultimately it's why successive managers have landed back on something similar and found it not to work.

Top could sit there watching us play 4-3-3 or 5-3-2 and he wouldn't know the difference.

He even said in his recent interview that it was important to 'play the right way'. I think sticking to a system is part of any hiring plan for any manager.

And athough we have Okoli and Nelson injured now, when they were available we had plenty of CB's who could play in a 3 (including Aluko if needed). I do not believe for one minute that it was impossible to do anything else.

I'm sure he believes that, I just don't honestly think he'd know. He's not close enough to football or us to know what's going on.

I think he would. And also, it would involve Rudkin going behind his back. Zero chance.

Formation and lack of alternatives comes from the top.

What would be the point in sacking him now? It wouldn't make any difference.

Yeh - It’ll be very difficult to find someone who can better the outstanding new manager bounce of Rowett’s 1 win in 10.

Not sure I agree with this. Spent forever talking about how he wanted to play like Man City, then in that ****ing horrendous "we promote" interview, mentions how long throws are the key now and suddenly we're using them like they're going out of fashion...

Surely his contract will expire after the last game of the season

It will and he supposedly has no interest regardless of circumstance to carry on after this season with Leicester or anybody

I always go back to the QPR game in the cup where I know for a fact that RVN was given direction from above that he must not have any younger players (i.e. not already a part of the squad) involved, as the club saw it as an opportunity for a morale boosting win.

You look at how things changed once we were relegated in terms of the younger players being involved, and there's probably something in the theory that managers aren't quite having the autonomy they would elsewhere.

Still doesn't excuse how they are doing, mind.

To be honest I think we'd be hard-pressed to find anybody who can get a tune out of our current squad given the depth of the rot that has infected it. Sure, if we had 6-7 games left I'd be inclined to give somebody else a go, but unfortunately I think it's too late. No point bringing anybody in with a pair of defibrillators now—we've already passed away and are starting to whiff a bit.

I think its been very quiet with any news or rumours since Saturday. Rowett didnt face the fans at all after the game, which i thought might be a sign he thought he was done for.

But all things considered, there has been very little mentioned about anything in socials or the media about him.

Rowett knows we're cooked. He'll definitely mentally checked out now and given up. He'll be counting down the days until the Blackburn game.

Then he should be sacked?

Wouldn't blame him for calling in sick that day

You'd imagine he will be after Hull if that is the game we go. Kingy to take Millwall and Blackburn as they'll be nothing games.
