That's why he's listed as out, I decided to leave the contracted extended in because plenty on here thought he was out of contract so it frames the context of him being sold rather than just leaving.

The lack of any serious activity is a huge problem. It’s not even like we’ve sorted the outgoings and we’re just biding our time for incomings.

 

I thought McCarron might help the bandwidth problem but no, slow and sclerotic as usual - get ready for a slew of shit loans on deadline day.

You just know there won't be this big clear out that is needed. There may be one or two before transfer deadline day and then the odd loan for players on big wages to the Championship.

My assumption is we’re about -3 net senior players a season on average over the past 5 years, chatGPT backed it up.

 

Eventually Rudkin’s Inability get (any) players in is going to come home to roost and we’ll have a disastrously thin squad. We need the big outgoings sorted early so we have A) cash for working capital and B) we do have a moderate kitty to rebuild.

 

What I can see happening is we dither, maybe sign two or three permanently, drag our feet but get desperate as the window closes and our financial situation hits home. Then we sell Fatawu and Nelson without time to get adequate replacements in. Then the unfavourable loans happen as standard.

 

Martin will then intimate at being lied to like the rest have.

We’re so slow that I wouldn’t be surprised to see faes start the first game of the season 😂 

 

we’re not getting anyone out of the door we actually want gone before the first game, for real money. (Monga, fatawu, maybe Nelson) we will still be haggling for Pennie’s on the ones we actually need gone

Am I missing something? Just glad that the club is continuing to exist. As a financial guy i think that we're still galloping down dyhrea alley on a headless chicken so to speak.

The clear out is our most sellable players and youth players.

As far as I can tell, someone will tell me if I am wrong, when we announce our first summer signings, we will be the last club in League 1 to sign a player this summer... Looks like we are being slow again this year

It is a huge ongoing challenge at this club unfortunately, with a limited number of solutions. No excuses though, we all know how it happened

I know right!... You'd think back in April they'd have taken a look at the league table and thought... "Hmm... We could be in League One next season, let's make a transfer shortlist just in case that we can use to be proactive across the summer"... But that could be too logical couldn't it 😅

The transfer window is coming to a close in a few weeks last couple days Rudkin will panic and buy over pay any useless crocked player just to fill the team

I may be wrong but I think it's taking long as the players we're after realise it's Leicester City and are asking for huge salaries/contracts to drop to League 1.

We ain't got it in us to scout proper bargains in lower leagues/Scandinavia/south America/Asia

Where many a gem can be found.

I know we will talk about 2008 a lot now we are back in League One but that summer our transfer window was fantastic when Nigel arrived and brought in those physical, hungry players on a shoestring and completely revamped the defence, whilst getting our highest earners out (McAuley, Hume, DJ Campbell, Ngotty... Some were sold, some out on loan). I was a lot younger then , weren't we all hahaha, but it felt transformational when he brought in Tunchev, Brown, Hobbs, Berner, Gilbert, Lloyd Dyer... I'm not saying let's just copy and paste the method of 2008 into 2026 but I think what we all wanted was before we started preseason games was to have that feeling of a 'transformation', but for whatever reason it just hasn't happened (as yet... Will it?)...🤷🏻‍♂️

 

For me it feels like we start preseason stale rather than refreshed ... Anyone else feel that way or just me? 😅
