Should have won the last 2 games which is an improvement. Players trying but just need a bit more quality. James to come back gives me hope. Must win on Monday and things will look different

Why should we have won? Both of our goals were opposition assists. Daka didn’t even need a 1st touch for either of them.

Take them away and we lose 0-2.

There are only 2 positives to be taken from yet another missed opportunity.

1. Daka scoring 2 goals could give him a bit of confidence. If he could get one or 2 more against Sheff Wed, he hopefully could have a little purple patch in the final games.

2. Other than Blackburn, nobody else around us won.

We are running out of games though and these players have got to pull their fingers out and start playing to their full ability level. This league is shite and teams like Preston are utter fodder, so disappointing that we struggle to finish off such poor teams.

As were their 2 goals- first we gave the ball away in our half needlessly ( was it Ricardo?) and 2nd keystone cops marking , Ricardo left  his post, their player probably intended to just head it back into a danger area without meaning to precisely place it in the only spot where  a keeper couldn’t get it- fluke.

The stats show which team had more attacks and better chances, so yes we should have won- same as the Watford game.

Preston are and were an awful team

Yet they have still scored more points then us, even if you removed the points deduction they still have scored more points

The two games that will determine our fate will be the game on Monday between Oxford & Portsmouth and our game against Portsmouth

Yeah talk about trying to reach for reasons to be critical lol. At the very most, it slightly skims it on the way into the roof of the net but I’m not convinced it even does as it doesn’t seem to be enough to change the course of the ball.

Strange thing to try and use to play down the goal anyway, particularly in light of Preston’s first!

Easily pleased well done to you John👍🏾

Trying to sow a silk purse out of a sows ear.

It was an  embarrassing draw epitimised by the ineptitude  of players like Daka who have got this club in this state.

Really frastrating match yesterday. I thought we played and reacted well after going 2-1 down. We create good pressure, which contributed to our goals. Their 1st goal, show where we are as a club, another day the goal line technology would have favoured us- its was so close, that with the naked eye it looked like it didn’t cross the line, from where we were sitting. Their 2nd goal was just poor defending and keeping. We got into some good positions, especially on the counter, but we that no runners (not able to read the game) from midfield to support, that’s where we really missed JJ, yesterday. We should have won, but not the worse result, but we are running out of games now!

Bang on Gibbo.👍🏾

Its embarrassing and yet people feel the need to start lapping up a player who has lost us more points than he has given us in his entire career here

I just don’t have a weird hatred for the guy and will criticise where deserved and acknowledge a good performance where due 👍🏻

Add that Preston Equaliser to over a handful of goals conceded this season when a half arsed Abdul has lost the ball cheaply in the right wing position leading to a counter attack!

28 shots to 8. No fight. Gi ova

Over the majority of performances this season it looks to me this team is not up to it. Not arsed about how many chances we had. We had to have the opposition grant us two goals for us to get a draw.

Yep we could do with a draw between Oxford and Portsmouth and if we beat Sheff Wed, that moves us out of the relegation zone. We need to be beating Swansea and Portsmouth

Did you applaud the players off at full time John?

No. I won’t give a penny more to KP so will not attend. I want KP out and am one of the most vocal critics of them and the team so you can stick your comments about easily pleased up somewhere…

It’s not that deep. At Watford, Daka cost us 2 points with the penalty and the defence did their job. Yesterday Daka did his job and the defence cost us. Until both do their job in the same 90 minutes, we will continue not to win games.

If your dislike of the player is so much you can’t bring yourself to say anything remotely positive that is your choice. But you could ignore the thread. If you choose to belittle those who feel differently including myself I’ll respond in kind.

It’s in our interests that Daka gets a few between now and the end of the season. And like I said above, I don’t see that it requires any different skill set to score a goal set up by a teammate or by an opponent.

I don’t have an issue with you but you’re well off with these comments about being easily pleased or a happy clapper!

Fair enough John good points made👍🏾

This is my issue now with the likes of Daka,Ayew,Winks etc even it they scored a hat trick each I loathe them too much now to say anything nice about them.

I'm a proper cvnt.😁

Nah, that 07/08 team were much better defensively. This is definitely the worst defence we’ve ever had.

No. The McClintock defence was by far and away the worst defence we've ever had. Dave Webb and Steve Sims. Good grief.

Let down FC draw to a team mid table nothing to play for already got their sandals on. Fully expect a loss or draw on Monday. Yep they call me Mr Negative

It’s easy to sit here and try and put together a hopeful end to the season, picking up crumbs of something to try and convince ourselves we’re about to go on a run to keep us up.

The problem is, this team on paper should be blowing those teams around us away, we’re not, because it’s a mixture of no confidence, not caring and not being very good is stopping us. But it’s the not caring that will be our undoing, we don’t start really pressurising them until our second goal, we can’t hold onto leads and we can’t put games to bed, because we simply don’t want it as much as the opposition. When it comes down to the crunch, all the teams around us want it more, and that’s why we will ultimately go down.

Posted this in another thread.

The downfall in 2007/2008 was our inability to score and the fact we drew too many matches, not the back four. We had the second-best defensive record that season, but only netted 42 times, least amount of all teams.

And the other 23 teams were closer in terms of ability – which is why we went down with 52 (!) points. That it was on the last day of the season against Stoke, with a dire 0-0 draw to top it off, was symptomatic for the entire campaign.

The thing is with that side is the defence  weren't  too bad ,we had something to  build on.This ****ing bunch there's absolutely  nothing  to build on or with.Dont see this lot that  will be left ever doing anything ,we are going  to end up being a  run of the mill league 1 side  .
