You bet your house on it we lcfc will be emailing the football league to remind them to be transparent and fair and give equal punishment 😉

If it is 2 points that would be ideal for us meaning we could mathematically catch Oxford and West Brom but let’s not kid ourselves here we are done barring an absolute miracle in change of attitude from the players.

How anyone could justify us remaining in the championship is beyond common sense ... at this stage of the season... we are where we are because of the pathetic performances, lack of any fight, passion or commitment ... our position is not down to bad luck or a massive injury list or suspensions .... IT IS BECAUSE WE ARE A POOR TEAM WITH POOR PLAYERS AND A VERY POOR MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE

I am very confused, if breaking PSR means you are losing money, and the league does not want this, how does points deduction solve anything? Doesn’t that just make the situation worse? Shouldn’t the solution just be transfer bans, you can no longer spend money to bring players in, or you have a threshold of how much you can spend on players, then the teams have to figure out how to cut cost, and then once you are in the positive then the bans are removed.

And why are they losing money?
Because like us they have overspent and not done enough to remedy the situation from cost cutting or getting promoted. The whole point of sanctions and deductions is to act as a deterrent same for all clubs across the board.

They seem confident anyway

“The club considers that it has fully complied with the P&S rules. The club will continue to co-operate with the EFL’s club financial reporting unit and looks forward to resolving this matter

Best case scenario (other than staying up obviously) would be going down with Oxford.

Sheff Weds, Leicester & West Brom as 3 teams going down are all heavyweights for League One. Would leave absolutely no margin for error in promotion you’d expect (assuming Sheff Weds

sort themselves out by then).

Possibly the biggest/strongest 3 clubs relegated from the Championship in a single season?

That won’t come into effect until next season

"If found guilty, West Brom face a points deduction which, according to the EFL's sanctioning guidelines, would be applied this season and potentially mean they drop into the relegation zone."

So could end up with all three relegated teams, Owls, Baggies and Foxes subject to PSR deductions. Well played EFL, truely great system delivering..what exactly?

They can say that, sure - but how will all of the following be achieved in the next 18 days?

  • EFL establish an independent commission
  • IC hears arguments and submissions from all parties
  • IC deliberates and comes to final recommendation
  • Parties have window to form an appeal
  • IC hears arguments and submissions of appeal
  • IC deliberates on appeal and makes final decision

Note that Leicester were charged by the PL/EFL 20th May 2025 and got the final decision 5th Feb 2026 (261 days later) and then appealed, which added another 62 days to the overall process

The exact amount of West Brom’s breach is not thought to be significant and only a minor number above loss limits, but a points deduction, transfer ban or fine are all potential punishments.

All this really proves further that PSR is a sack of shit. Potentially the 3 teams that go down this season do so with points deduction ‘punishment’. Something incredibly ****ed up about the for a rule that is meant to stop clubs going out of existence. We will be gone this time next year.
