I think we have lined up a lot of target and are just pulling the trigger as we get players out.

Exactly this and for example, the John Souttar link has gone on too long this summer...which makes me think as soon as a centre back is gone he will be in.

Don’t know with him, just because the Watson/Burns signing came out of nowhere and we only knew of Bristric because somehow we have a lad on here who is from the same Bosnian village. I think it’ll mainly be players we haven’t seen linked at all, or maybe a couple who were coincidentally linked/the loans, which could be leaked by the other club to push interest before a decision, like McConnell or Hardy.

 

Souttar is the easiest link ever, his ex manager and brother at the same club, I think it’s been leaked by his agent to try to encourage teams at top L1/lower champ to bid, very similar to Archie Collins who I doubt we were ever seriously into

We've had Chaplin that was known for a while, so there is a mix. I'm happy enough with the window so far and hoping it continues as there's still work to be done :)

Which also indicates Brussell is the most influential in transfers. Let's hope he's good at it, I have minimal faith in any of them to be fair in that regard.

Not necessarily, he's just the one who's selling the project.

Don’t think there is any negative to Martin being so busy with transfers, I get Enzo vibes (purely) from his treatment and relationships with the squad, imagine a couple have signed just for the effort he puts in to win them over

True, but this has been a crazy summer with 20+ players coming in and out. JM is still new in the role and hasn't had a huge amount of time to prepare.

 

One of the club's biggest issues has been player character and mentality, so I think that's why we've gone for a few players that are already known quantities to help us build a better culture.

I guess it’s good that he’s managed in league 1 and knows the level. Especially if he’s bringing in ex players you’d imagine he has a good grasp on whether they are good enough for it

Have we actually been linked to John Souttar by a reputable journo? Not sure I’ve seen anything outside of this forum

Not sure, maybe Mavididi if he leaves or he doesn't "replace" anyone and Cullen plays as a striker rather than an attacking midfielder
