It about looking at the club financial positions, without selling youth product we would be near to administration

We have seen 2 permanently players one 29, another 36, if we add Cullen is 27 and John Soutter is 29.

 

Just think we need to be investing in younger players who can grow with us.

But since you asked I have actually watched him a fair bit. I often tune into Rangers and Celtic especially with the earlier kick off times and I also enjoy watching British teams play in Europe regardless if it’s Champions league, Europa league or conference league. 
 

I am a football nerd who loves finding out about new players and analysing different styles of play.

That’s my bad. Just very frustrating with the sheer amount of negativity which at this point feels forced unless we sign a high flying championship player which we know isn’t going to happen with current circumstances. 
 

There is going to be times this season where shit is going to get hard. It happens for all teams, every season. In them moments you need players with high leadership qualities to guide the young lads. The squad is so young. Do I believe on quality alone they could get the job done, absolutely. It’s the mental side of a full 60 game season that concerns me. 

 

With regards to your prior comment about the sale of youth players to comply financially, you’re absolutely right. But playing devils advocate we are screwed if we don’t get promoted this year so it’s irrelevant. The best we can hope for is breakout seasons from some of the young lads whilst building a squad mixed with experience and youth to get promoted.

But we cannot afford to buy young players with resale value as they will inevitably come at a greater cost to us as well.

 

We have our own young players that we can develop and turn a profit on, if we are selling youth players every year we also need other players to fill those positions once they are gone.

 

I don’t know the ins and outs of the finances but if next year we have to sell a page, alves or braybrooke to stay afloat, we then need someone to fill those positions so having a few senior pros around that can cover multiple positions is not the end of the world. Especially if they are brought in on sensible deals, that obviously remains to be seen as we don’t know what was paid or what his wages are, I just don’t understand getting so upset about something a) before it happened and b) before we know the finances of the deal.

 

If we spend 3-4mill on Cullen and put him on 15-20k a week for 3/4 years then by all means, get angry. If we sign him for 1-2mill and he’s on 4-8k for 3/4 years then there is really nothing to get upset about.

I know we need experience I just don't think we should be paying money for pros of a certain age.

 

We did it right under NP when we generally get experience in on a free other then probably Huth.

Brilliant, is this the same Obafemi that is ex Southampton, about 5”1 and is a striker that scores barely any goals in the worst form of his life. The same one that we would also have to pay money for??
