TheGoldenGod Posted 11 September Posted 11 September Him pulling that shit, having the front to tell the media that the criticism has got personal....is absolutely f**kng staggering. This bloke is the devil incarnate, you can't convince me otherwise! He persists with a philosophy that doesnt work so he can get the boot and a chunky payout. He doesnt give a shit about his actual managerial experiences otherwise he WOULD adapt. Scumbag. 2
Pliskin Posted 11 September Posted 11 September He’s going to look like a right cųnt when we lose tomorrow.

Enyoueffsea Posted 11 September Posted 11 September 3 hours ago, LCFCCKEANO said: Tactics are crap and all that but surely we can accept that the toxicity has played a part in our complete inability to hold our nerve in any situation whatsoever? I can’t imagine playing over the top passing football with 25k moans and groans every pass is easy whatsoever. Not defending the tactics but it definitely has played a part in some of the crap we have seen. If you’ve played before you’ll know that up to a certain point it all blocks out, but when things go wrong these things become a lot more noticeable on the pitch and it does make it harder to play when you feel like every touch you make is being scrutinised, think it’s why 0-1 at home quickly turns into 0-4 when away I do not think we would capitulate to that level. I blamed the players being soft for a long while but at this point it’s pretty much an entirely new squad and the same issue. Again bigger problems are the tactics and the historic recruitment but it is an issue that will be affecting performance If your players cannot cope with a mild mannered moan or groan, the problem is their mentality, not the fans. Toxic would be Marseille ultras storming the training ground to demand the sacking of the manager. Half of Leicester’s stadium going “urghh” when a ball is passed sideways to a player already marked isn’t the problem here. Even if that brief groan does have an impact, that is on the manager setting an impossible style of play. If you know the culture and fans aren’t in a great place, why not get out and attack teams and get them on their feet? There are no leaders in the Leicester side that care enough about the club. Who is your most senior Academy player? Thomas? Who’d seemingly rather be out with his mates at the pub than turning the club around. It’s not surprise for example that Spurs capitulated when Kane left, whilst they miss his goals, they miss his leadership and standard setting more. 2

jv1 Posted 11 September Posted 11 September If you watch the whole presser from start to finish I kind of feel sorry for him with how personal things have got with him - yes he needs to improve the results but I still say he is a decent enough bloke trying to do his best 1

bovril Posted 11 September Posted 11 September I would have more sympathy with him if he hadn't called out players and their "egos" is his first game at Rangers, and if he hadn't publically criticised the young players' fitness here in a very obvious attempt to project his own failings on to others. Not all great managers admit they made mistakes - Ferguson didn't I don't think, Guardiola tends to from time to time. But one thing they never do is make it "personal" to use our Russ' own words. Keep that shit in the dressing room. Because not only is it not conducive to success on the pitch, it's also cowardly and shitty behaviour. He definitely has personality issues, as did Rodgers, but Rodgers also had some qualities as a coach and manager that could for some time compensate for his destructive ego.

Agree with the last two paragraphs, it’s why I clearly have stated it isn’t the main issue, but I think saying players are not going to be affected is being silly, they are humans too and will have human reactions to things around them. And the moaning and groaning is not what I would call mild mannered in the slightest. You’re right, it isn’t Marseille fans storming a training ground, as that is actually just clinically insane behaviour for an adult with a life to commit to. Just isn’t really a point is it, the players would of course be more effected if we physically threatened them, but are still effected by the fans and their reactions and especially the negativity or positivity, and especially if things are already high pressure. Just because it isn’t the main problem doesn’t mean it isn’t a problem, and we clearly have more than just one problem

Just because it isn’t the main problem doesn’t mean it isn’t a problem, and we clearly have more than just one problem But not enough to show some pride in the shirt, based on the last few seasons? The reality is that the players’ attitude is driven by the internal culture of the club, including but not limited to that of the manager. So even when we replace players, the new ones still think it’s ok to put in half a shift. Again, players need to be mature and professional enough to acknowledge that the negativity is warranted and based on the past few seasons, isn’t personal, and will only change if they take the results as personally as the fans. In reality footballers look for a way to pass the buck and get a transfer. Footballers are not poor victims, they are the privileged class who aren’t willing to make even the most basic sacrifices for their club (see Winks, see no one boycotting World Cups). If they care as much as the fans do I expect them to have the same standards instead of hiding and saying it’s hard to play under pressure and need time to implement the process etc. That won’t wash anymore, it’s results or get out.

Lose tomorrow and you still think carry on? If we fail to win tomorrow or Barnsley? Curious how long other fans are giving him.
Popular Post ACF Posted 11 September Popular Post Posted 11 September Russell, of course the criticism is personal, your ther person in charge and you’ve been found out again as having no idea. Having 70% possession is wonderful if you’re doing something with it. We’re 23rd on goals per game, 20th in big chances and XG, 23rd for possession won in final third despite wanting to be a pressing team. Despite having the ball for 70% of a game, we’re middle of the table for XG conceded, 6.9 XG conceded vs 7 conceded, so it’s not like we’ve been unlucky with some great goals being scored. You’ve got an attack which is failing to create chances, and a defence that concedes goals despite the other team never having the ball. Its personal because it’s your system and everyone other than you can see despite you caring for the aesthetics and energy of the players, it’s ****ing shit football because it doesn’t win. 6

Christmas - Jesus surely we have to give a guy 4 months - 16 tossers out and 14 new lads in - Jesus Christ surely we give a guy 4 months to coach them we are all frustrated and pig sick of watching our team lose but come on - there is no way this was going to be easy - it never works that way - i don’t get the personal stuff at all - comes across as a bloke trying to do his best coaching in a way he believes in - surely he deserves a chance and 5 games isn’t a chance Edited 11 September by jv1 2 1

But he strikes me as exceptionally unintelligent. I hope he turns it round and, with that squad at this level, he might. Still, his pre-match was extraordinary for me. He seemed to be especially seething at the excellent, more searching questions by the female interviewer. I had to wonder whether he's a man who struggles with articulate women, because it clearly, visibly unsettled him. He took it extremely personally. To me, he looked like the archetype of someone who knows they've failed, and is ready to lash out at the world for failing to understand him. Even so, strange things can happen - but they have to happen very soon. 1
