Might be different when his brother arrives.

Have we ever had brothers play in the first team for us?

Stef and Scott Oakes played for 1st team but not together, about 2-3 years apart.

If we somehow end the window with a chance of having Souttar, Nelson and Kangasniemi in the championship next season(if we go up) we have done very well in that department

But when you’ve got them, plus Faes and Okoli with at least 3 of them on massively over the odds at this level it probably pushes us a day closer to the trap door and means we can’t bring in the striker we need. Completely pointless having that backline in that scenario.

We need balance, and Souttar is probably the most likely to go.

Given that Wrexham have now switched their attention to Joe Worrall, it looks like Souttar is the least likely to go as nobody else seems willing to cough up the fee.

He won’t be going, sell him won’t get a decent replacement in time.

I don’t think that will stop us..

Nah, I still think we drop our demands and a championship team ups their max. Obviously not going to be Wrexham now though.

I know lots have said he doesn't give a shit (see: Notts County goal) but I think it's quite telling about Souttar's professionalism and the club's willingness to keep him that he's starting despite wanting away, while others (Mavididi, Choudhury, Faes) are not playing at all due to possible moves.

If he stays, I think he will be important for our success. If he is leaves, so be it and hopefully we have time to reinvest.

I doubt he leaves now though.

Apparently he hasn’t even bothered to tell the club he wants away,  which would be a bit odd if he’s really desperate to leave.

Doesn’t want to give up his loyalty bonus.

There’s a difference between making it clear you want to leave and actually handing in a transfer request. I don’t think Faes, Mavididi or Choudhury handed in transfer requests either, but that didn’t stop RM from leaving them out of the squad.

I'd be happy to see him go.

I think a move away would benefit both parties as long as we can bring in a replacement.

Once the window is closed there is some work to do to motivate him for sure, but agreed he is better than any of the alternatives we could attract.

If you want to motivate him don't play him next to Okoli or LT

People very quick to jump on Souttar's back.

He was playing LCB alongside Okoli...

Nobody plays well when their defensive partner is Caleb Okoli. Souttar looked miles better as a LCB and alongside someone who was more competent on the ball in Luke Thomas.

I think he stays and he will be absolutely fine... A bonus is he will help Ilari Kangasniemi settle quickly too.

Absolutely fine next to Thomas on Saturday

Yes I know, I like Souttar playing as the right CB, not exactly a tough game though.

He's had a shaky start, but he's our best centre back.
