I know everybody's a bit obsessed with book value because we've finally all got our heads around PSR but it is now time for people to stop obsessing over this haha. 

 

Book value is done with in the context of our compliance moving forwards. 

 

Selling players for a loss will never be a good idea but the old idea of clearing a player's remaining book value in the regulatory period in which he's sold is no longer an issue.

A note on the last part: the Championship only counts the rolling amortisation of players still on our books, so even if a player has three or four years left on his initial contract now which would be three or four years or annual amortisation costs for us, if we dump him this year even at a loss against the old PSR rules, by the time we get back to the Championship (again, if we do, obviously) then that doesn't matter. 

 

So this is THE window to just cut our losses and sell everyone regardless. Hence why we are.

Weird one this. On paper it would have seemed like the easiest deal to sort. Olayer 100% doesn't want to be here and has just had a decent spell at Monaco. There would have been an argument for mutual termination and save the wages but even a £1.5 million fee and a see you later seemed very doable. I hope we are holding out fot £5m+. Probably end up another loan.

Until Faes, i don't think i had ever really truly hated a Leicester player. It felt like such a weird concept, to have a visceral, negative reaction to a player within a team you support. 

Don't get me wrong. I didn't think Gary Coatsworth or Junior Lewis were good enough. I didn't like that French chaps Panenka penalty, and i thought Lee Marshall was a bit shit. I was very unconvinced by Mark Blake and thought Bobby Davison rocked the Fox Leisure kit like they'd put an accountant out on the pitch.

But Faes really broke the watershed. 

He's highlighted a real trend among certain teams that has emerged post the advent of Pep ball. The ability to appear immenseley arrogant and self assured in and around the game, whilst delivering heinous **** ups and performances that cost goals, games and relegations without the approach or urgency appearing to change. Faes, Souttar, Okoli, Skipp, Ayew, Thomas, Vestergaard and others all have/had this in spades. No noticeable change in approach or style at any point despite all evidence pointing to the fact that they need to change. This is why me, and other Leicester fans i think, have slowly just fallen out of love with the players and the club. The sheer inability to recognise failure and to adopt a new style and approach is just not something we've come across at scale before and its permeated every part of the club. 

The fact we are STILL splitting our CB's and passing across our 6 yard box in League One. Still signing players who think, but can't prove, that they are above a league means that Faes is the poster boy of the whole shitshow. 

Keep giving the ball away directly to the striker for goals? Carry on

Keep getting caught out of position in transition? Carry On

Have no capacity or tactics to go long or be more direct? Carry on. 

 

For footballers like Faes on massive contracts, i think its this consequence free-ness that alienates them eventually. 

 

Anyway - **** him of to Turkey. He can even donate his barnet to all the visiting scousers getting a hair transplant.
