also no plan b and we get relegated,

 

so the board get together and say this style of football clearly does not work for us,

and appoint a manager that insists on the same nonsense that got us in this mess,

and cost him his last 2 jobs,

 

you honestly could not make it up,

I’ve said all season that if we go 1-0 up we will sit on it,

if we go 1-0 down we a

re ****ed,

because other than personel,

he won’t change this shocking system/football,

 

Never in my life have I wanted a manager out after 5 games,

but now we must make a change cuz it’s gonna get a lot worse

The arse end of the Maresca season was rough as **** but his football at least had some purpose, like it or loathe it. I genuinely don't know what the gig is with Martin's style beyond possession for possession's sake.

And again, we waste the first half with a slow, ponderous style of play.

Second half was marginally better (in the beginning), until we conceded the second. Then it all broke down.

 

Oxford kept it simple, pass it to the wingers, play it into the box. Worked like a charm.

We persist with a complicated, tedious system. Only fools repeat mistakes constantly. That's what we're doing.

That interview. **** me. Does himself no favours. Not that he could excuse that. He still tries to though. Inexperienced caused all our kick offs to come back at our goal apparently. Even though Souttar was at fault for at least one of them. 

 

Sad that we could all see how this would pan out and we still held out that slight hope that maybe even Rudkin couldn't get it wrong yet again. Still with by far the biggest budget we serve up that.

Worst appointment in the clubs history, we all knew this would happen after Rangers.

 

He was finished in football but we had to appoint him. Nothing changes until Top and Rudkin go, because they'll appoint somebody equally as stupid next.

Finally left that pit of misery to compose my thoughts…

 

What a load of s**te that was. Defence is an absolute joke. To fall to the masterclass of knock it wide and cross was borderline hilarious. Full backs were clearly targeted as they have zero positional awareness and the CB pairing is the worst we've ever had. Souttar just wandered around like he didn’t want to be there (captain lol) whilst Thomas, out his depth in his natural LB position, is a sitting duck. Any team will look at that and lick their lips at how easy it will be to beat us. After the goals went in the entire team just started at their feet without zero accountability or awareness for what’s going on. They don’t have a clue and couldn’t give a toss.

 

Burns is just a passenger and I’m wondering if anyone has seen him and Cullen in the same room together? Midfield is just so lightweight they can’t push forward without being bumped off the ball. Reluctant to stick the knife in too deep with them as they’re out of their depth kids with zero leadership around them to help.

 

We've got a manager who is cut from the Brendan cloth and is too arrogant to change his ways. We go down if this continues and it’s on the cretins who employed this clown when anyone who watches footballs can see this coming a mile away. Even the subs were just like for like, this guy has zero football intelligence. Even our staff bench are just a bunch of wetters collect wage.

 

Ref was crap but thankfully it made naff all difference. This is karma for our hideous yellow away kit being a knockoff Oxford shirt.

Noticed that they would pass backwards to the cbs but they never slowed it down and passed back to the keeper.  The RW was the target as he was always in space so they looked for him.  Alves was waving his arms, unmarked and plenty of space, Thomas looks at him then either blasted it don th middle or his stupid no look back pass that Soutter and JJ didn't expect.

We held a ridiculously high line for a back 4 that aren't exactly blessed with pace, combined with the fact that their wingers were rapid. Didnt he do his homework? They were getting in time and time again.

Its tough to understand how you come back from this though, its an extremely worrying result, given his reputation in the game, things needed to stay on a positive trajectory.

But hes just sunk us to our lowest ever point, good teams, well run and organised teams lose games, it happens, they do not get battered 4-0 at home to teams who had a transfer ban in a league they have double the budget of any other club. And unfortunately for Martin we've seen this play out at Southampton and Rangers. 

 

Im trying not to be over the top as I get its just one game, but we've all watched enough football to know these are the results that say you are bang in trouble.

His reputation in the game is that he is a shit manager. It was known by many a year ago and everyone bar 2 or 3 people 6 months ago. Sadly those people run Leicester City FC.

I’m not sure how accurate all of this is.

 

In our only other third tier season, the biggest home defeat was 2-0. We have already doubled that margin as our worst third tier home defeat.

 

In terms of second tier, AI (yes I know) suggests a few times we have lost by 4 or more at home. Suggests our biggest since 1983, 1 in 1959 by 4 goals and anything else, back to best part of 100 years ago. And being in the third tier, this is probably our worst home defeat in living memory…..
