Rumours For New Managers

Recommended Posts

Although he looks like he'll be a decent manager, Martin Allen's abit of a ponce if you ask me. If you listen to him talk he's a right nancy boy even though he does seem crazy as ****.

Not overly bothered that he has turned it down, I think alot of managers view the job as either a poisoned chalice or think there must be serious problems and jumping on the bandwagon like other managers and turning us down.

It now means we have to go for either an unproven manager in Rob Kelly or go for an unpopular choice and hope it works. If Rob Kelly seriously doesn't want to become a manager then it will have to be Holloway.

Sorry but he hasn't turned us down that can only happen if you actually offer someone the bloody job.

Get a bloody grip.

But he has turned us down ... i.e. he says he isn't interested in the job, so hence turned us down ?

I'm in no hurry for a new manager, I think the best policy would be to wait till summer and then review our options. If all what in the media is true, I hope the board will make a statement, confirming Rob Kelly as the manager untill the end of the season

I spoke to a guy who is a coach at Brentford a few weeks back and he reckoned MA is very ambitious and that alot of clubs were looking at him, also he reckoned LCFC wasn't an attractive enough option for him!!!

We should just keep Kelly in till the end of the season, no point offering the job to any one else now anyway!

At the end of the season it will probably be easier to get a manager in. Newell and Allen will want to finish the season off with there current clubs. Brentford are looking good for promotion to the championship, and Luton have still got a chance of reaching the play offs. Why would they leave now?

Yep totally agree with you .. give kelly it until the end of the season, hes done pretty well and the players seem to wanna play for him ! Pefect solution ... screw the other managers that don't wanna come, the club is hardly in crisis as current form shows :D

Errrr no. I'm afraid he can only turn us down if we offer him the job!!!

maybe they should say to kelly that if he wants it he can have a shot at being the first team manager for next season and if it does not work out then he can return to being a coach , if things do work then he will get a payrise and a long term contract.

as for the managers not wanting to come here , maybe we just dont have the funds available they might have thought we had and would rather wait for another, more flush club to poach them.

at the moment with so many clubs having sacked their managers its a managers dream market if they are rated at all.

says a lot if no one yet has appointed holloway.

Martin Allen is a chav gypo anyway, let him rot with a cr@ppy club like Brentford.

We just need to keep Kelly in now, I'm fed up with our managers post being linked to small club losers like Brentford, Luton, QPR, and their cr@ppy managers turning us down becuase they think their all in a better position. Well don't me laugh..!!

Let's see who has the last laugh when Rob Kelly wins us the league next season..!!!

Agreed, with more positions comming available in summer ie Wolves and Ipswich, it will be harder for city to get one of the 'better' managers without a decent financial package.

But surely he won't accept the job if hes offered it if he has told the media he isn't interested, and surely the only reason to go to the media in the first place is to stop Leicesters approach as he knows thats Leicester are going to ask him if he wants the job, so its turning the job down before hes offered it. Although to be fair its assuming we were going to offer him the job in the first place .....

But anyhoo i'm happy with Kelly so franky don't care whether Allen turns us down or not !

with us winning since we sacked our manager there is no disaster at all except maybe in the eyes of the press and t.v. pundits :ermm:

Martin does a regular web journal on the Brentford official site. Interesting paragraph is number 4.

He is very straight-talking and honest, so I believe him if he says he is not going, at least in the short term.

MARTIN`S SUNDAY UPDATE

Well good evening. I`m on my way back with Whit from Manchester. But I think it`s fair to set this scouting report, and it`s the third one we`ve done, will now be placed firmly in the top drawer and forgotten about until Wednesday morning.

Tomorrow morning I will only select players that are 101% fit for the match against the current best team in the league. A few weeks ago they outfought us, they outjumped us and had more desire and intent, as well as outpassing us and outplaying us. Without a doubt they are a good side, the best I have seen in this division and we will need to be on top form to get a result.

Yesterday was a good win. We never played that well in the first half but in the second half were dominant, without giving our supporters too much to be too excited about. I was delighted that Lloyd scored the winner. He has played a very important part in our recent run and all the acclaim has gone to others, and it`s quite ironic in a game that he was not on top form, he managed to bag the winner to send us back up the M4 relieved, and of course very happy.

I have no comment to make on speculation and ifs, buts and maybes. My mind is set on Valentine`s Day and nothing will faze me, and I can assure all our supporters that I will not be leaving to go to Leicester City.

I am absolutely delighted that Sam Tillen has received International recognition for his performances for us this season. Only 20 he has a good career ahead of him. Sodje was called up by Nigeria, Lloydie for Ghana and Tabby for the Republic of Ireland Under 21s. It just confirms that we are moving, onwards and upwards.

Take care.

Martin

Maybe we were and we interviewed him, didn't like what he said and said sorry not this time. Just like we did with the notts county manager! Maybe he is just saving face!

The facts are we don't know.

I agree completely. In the summer, when all the teams are back on an even keel, we will be a much more attractive option and the likes of Cotterill and Newell will suddenly seem more interested in the job.

Keep R. Kelly to the end of the season, when we will have time to take stock and make the right appointment.

You make a very good point there, only the club know whats going on beyond the facts that Kelly is the Caretaker manager and the board are currently looking for a new manager

"At the end of the day" comment is quite telling though, always sound as if they are resigned to what they are doing at the mo' but it could change!! (You can almost hear the barrel being scraped!)

I can now really see is keeping Kelly until the end of the season, and then Martin Allen becoming our manager from next season.

That's possible. But then again when Summer comes around he may have several other offers from which to choose from, which may be more favourable to him.

Also, if he leads us to promotion, he may actually decide that he like BFC too much to leave. He has a genuine soft spot for the Bees, and with the recent behind-the-scenes changes such as the appointment of Greg Dyke, he may want to have a go with us in the CCC.
