The People's Hero Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Fookin ave it! Today just gets better. I see the board gave him all our transfer budget and then sacked him Why not save the cash for the new guy?
Louise Posted 25 January 2006 Author Posted 25 January 2006 No, apparently it is the end, say 104.9 (I hear on the grapevine anyhow - we dont get it in London!) 'by mutual consent' doesn't mean he's not leaving my dear, it just means we'd never know if he was sacked or pushed because he'll have had a payoff and everyone will have signed confidentiality contracts.
Benji Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 'to discuss craig leveins position as manager' it could be something and nothing Craig: I would like to tell the LCFC supporters, I have persuaded the board to give me a new contract, so let us look to the future, stay together, and petition long ball for British military tactics. Vote De Vries! Thank you
filbertway Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 He was sacked at 5.30, mate of mine works at the club and he reckons that something went off after the game yesterday and he told me this morning that he didn't think Levein would be manager by the end of the day. Cant you get a different sig please Get a smaller one of him
filbertway Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 I feel sorry for him now Re-hire him i say very good
Polyphonic Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Yeah lets start the bring back CL club ... I expect some idiot will do if we play badly under the new manger who ever than maybe ... (Please not the monkey head ....)
The People's Hero Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 I feel sorry for him now Re-hire him i say As what? Certainly not as a manager.
Leicester Lass Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Cant you get a different sig please Get a smaller one of him Sorted! Sorry
filbertway Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/leicester.shtml listen here at 6:30
stez Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 I feel sorry for him now Re-hire him i say i'm with you, i hate to see people jobless and upset, come on TD give him his job back
Monk Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 I feel sorry for him now Re-hire him i say Me and my other 20,999 mates don't agree with you. The guy has a good heart but no sense of the damage he's doing to the club. Naivity is not a desirable skill of a football manager.
Anish Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Excellent news, if it's true (I'm praying!). I just got home and checked the OS first and there was nothing there - I was cursing the board just a few minutes ago. I'm glad they've finally come to their senses.
The People's Hero Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Just when I'd stopped BeLEIVIN that LEVEIN would be LEAVIN. Great news. Also, I'm a legend.
stez Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 What did i say? that peter reid would be manager, that's not going to happen
Monk Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Me and my other 20,999 mates don't agree with you. The guy has a good heart but no sense of the damage he's doing to the club. Naivity is not a desirable skill of a football manager. 20,998 sorry
Polyphonic Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Just when I'd stopped BeLEIVIN that LEVEIN would be LEAVIN. Great news. Also, I'm a legend. Well done that was very clever, unlike Tim Davis ....
Chrysalis Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 good news but I hope they havent acted too late, I felt this should have happened a month ago.
Craig Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Leicester City today announced that Craig Levein, Peter Houston and Kenny Black will be leaving the club with immediate effect. Tim Davies said: "It is with huge disappointment that we have to announce the departure of Craig, Peter and Kenny. I would like to thank them for the work they have done for the club since their arrival in November 2004. At that time we set out on a long term strategy for the club to: - Players on longer term contracts, living locally who want to do well for the club - Development of younger players through the Academy system - Reduction of the average age of playing squad - Sustainable off-field business development to support the club - Financial prudence - living within our means "Much of this has been achieved. However our league position is unacceptable and we need to make a change. We have had great support from our fans and all of us have one common goal, to avoid relegation and we see this as the way forward to do this." In the short term Rob Kelly will be taking over as caretaker manager and goal keeping Coach Mike Stowell will be assisting him in the interim.
filbertway Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 How gutted would we be if its just a vote of confidence ?
The People's Hero Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Well done that was very clever, unlike Tim Davis .... Let's see who he gets us as a replacement.... Then we'll criticise him. What's Howard Wilkinson doing these days? I think he should be banned from coming within 10 miles of Leicester. Just in case.
Collymore Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 I'm sure TD reads this board you know Wrote this last night in the match thread.................... Anyone emailing TD after the game? I think we should maybe leave just so he can search for a new manager. You can imagine TD's schedule for Wednesday. 8 am - 6pm answer fans emails.. 6pm - 6:30 sack CL and install new manager.
