Louise Posted 25 January 2006 Author Posted 25 January 2006 SSN asked Haary bassett if he wanted the job What did he say?
chesterfox Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 If TD reads this site let's make sure he knows who NOT to pick!!! Harry Bassett definitely not, nor Howard Wilkinson. I'm also really pleased but we're now further in the shit because we have to find somebody good(not much out there) and hope it's not too late.
Babylon Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 SSN asked Haary bassett if he wanted the job He's a cock... using the interview to air his own gripes with the club and Levein. Tos*sr.
Ricey Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Neither do I. ...no one is celebrating the fact we had to sack him, we are celebrating the fact that a manger who's taken us into the relegation zopne is no longer in charge.

Babylon Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 What did he say? He said we were 9th when they got Levein and we were reading for a promotion push. Also that his job was to help choose a manager and the board took it upon themselves to choose someone and that's why he left Leicester.
Phube Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 I'm not happy that he's been sacked (I don't like that sort of thing) but something had to be done. At least now every fan can be united in support of the team in our relegation battle!! Come On Leicester!!

Louise Posted 25 January 2006 Author Posted 25 January 2006 Levein Speaks: http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~773884,00.html Craig Levein issued the following statement upon the announcement that he would be leaving the club.He said: "Peter Houston, Kenny Black and myself are disappointed to be leaving the club today. "We came down to Leicester in November 2004 and, with the full co-operation of the board of directors, embarked upon a long-term strategy to reduce the wage bill, reduce the average age of the team and build the foundations for the long term success of Leicester City. "We felt we were making significant progress in those areas and our success in reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Cup last season and in beating Tottenham earlier this month seemed to bear that out. "Also, with the introduction of players such as Richard Stearman, Patrick McCarthy and Stephen Hughes, among others, we feel the club has some valuable assets upon which the future can be built. "However, we knew that with such a young squad, consistency would be difficult to achieve and we understand the board has taken the view that the results were causing them major concern and have taken the decision to terminate our contracts. "We wish the club every success in the future and are certain that the club will reap the benefits from the work we have put in. "We enjoyed our experience at Leicester hugely and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at the club - Tim Davies, the chief executive, the players, the staff and the supporters."

Babylon Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Basically dodged the question then. We were 14th btw Harry. Sorry, he said no he doesn't want it. By the sounds of it he hates us with a passion. He was taking great pleasure in saying how crap we were and that the older players adams had were better than Leveins players.

Phube Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Is anyone listening to Heart 106? The Birch started all normally, then the news hit!! He seemed quite shocked too!!
Ive got the blues Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 Fookin ave it! Today just gets better. I see the board gave him all our transfer budget and then sacked him Why not save the cash for the new guy? I dont think we did give him the whole budget, Tim davies mention 3-4 players arriving, so as soon as the rumours and transfers dried up you could tell they were considering his position, lets not celebrate until leicester start winning again, we need one hell of a manager to get this team going again!
potter3 Posted 25 January 2006 Posted 25 January 2006 HES GONE!!!!!!! :clap2: http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=35...in+leaves+Foxes
