Maybury to sunderland

You do have a point, I don't think the Welsh swap is on the cards anyway otherwise it would have been publicised I would have thought.

But on a footnote, what would you do with the £250k? Buy a right winger or a left winger? Do we need a right winger? Low looks above average, Hughes can play there as can Sylla or O'Grady/Hammond. On the left as you say we have Twatto, Hughes and Porter. I would still go for a left sided midfielder though.

I'd say bank it till January.

Is it an omen, Welsh not on the Squad List

And hes not out for two months, it says on Here that he's only out for a week.

He was on there on friday, but having said that our players disappear on ours and then appear again later on. Crap websites.

Well whatever, I still wouldn't buy him. Just because we have had someone on loan doesn't mean we need to sign them.

Stuart has since added a potent attacking threat down the Tigers' left flank. He is most effective when running at defenders and pulling back quality crosses from the by-line. Despite not being the tallest of players, he has tremendous jumping ability which also gives him the chance to regularly display his superb heading technique.

Despite a generally disappointing 2002-03 campaign for the team, he finished his first Tigers season as our top scorer with 12 goals.

Stuart once again reached a double-figure goals tally in 2003-04 and, with him receiving much greater attacking support, the Tigers acheived their goal of promotion from Division Three.

His valuable contribution was even more laudable as Stuart 'played through' the first three months of the season despite being hampered by a mystery virus; a complaint that was to return in March.

Back to full fitness, Stuart enjoyed an absolutely sensational 2004-05 season. Not only did the Tigers claim their second successive promotion but, in their centenary season, he fell only one goal short of becoming the seventh Tiger to score 30 goals in a season.

Having become only the second City player to hit 20 goals before the turn of the year, Stuart would surely have passed the 30 mark had he not been sidelined for over six weeks after suffering a broken cheekbone against Huddersfield Town on New Year's Day, and also missing four games whilst on international duty.

Sounds good, if we get him he should help with goalscoring from midfield, he scored agaisnt us when we beat them 3-2

Looks like from what it says on skysports that he is going to be allowed to talk to Sunderland. As Leicester are negotiating with Sunderland

SkySports

Well that's good news in itself. Davies is negotiating with them, which means that he could well be considering letting him go (hopefully!) :D

For what though? Thats the question.

I would love to see us get 500K for him and use the money to get Elliot from Hull.

Or a straight swap or swap and cash deal for Welsh..

Oh I love this transfer gossip! :P

What is there to negotiate? Shouldn't we be paying them to take him. Maybury was badly exposed in the first two games for being way too defensive. Another who just couldn't cut it sadly. I'll have a pint though of whatever Niall Quinn's been drinking. Lose the first three games and then make a bid for Maybury. God help Sunderland!

Quinn and Maybury are mates from their time in the Ireland side. Maybury could easily do a job at Sunderland and help to keep them in this league.

I'd be surprised if we got more than £100k for him, though..

i did like Andy Welsh as a player and was fairly pleased with his performances for us but i dont think i'd like him here if we had to pay. maybe if we can get him on loan till xmas again with a view to a permanent move is more like it, because he really hasnt had enough football since he left us (and he had very little here really).

i'd like to see this stephen elliot at leicester if he will play on the left wing but if we do get 500k for maybury whos to say the whole lot will be in RK's hands to go and buy a replacement/new players etc? what if he's only given half?!

Thats because he is a right back.

Half a mill for Maybury would be brilliant, but I reckon it will be more like £200,000 if that. If we get £500,000 for Maybury I reckon I could get snapped up for £75,000, and I'm a clapped out thirty something.

True enough, he is a right back, but first two games was right mid and offered no penetration going forward. I think he was petrified of getting too far forward 'cos Stearman was looking bit shaky, but Maybury never pushed Luton or Burnley's full-backs back enough. John Harley for Burnley was bombing forward at will, though I've always rated him to be fair back when he was at Chelsea.

Everones only giving maybury a hard time because hes been played in the wrong position,How i see it we will be losing a pretty good right back not a c**p right midfielder.
