Louis Theroux's new documentary is as good as his usual stuff.

Worrying thing is that these folks will just get more followers and money.

Yeah thought it was pretty mental seeing blokes talk like that. Part of me wondered if it was just a character they play to earn money but even then, pretty grim

Finally saw Marty Supreme. I know its only one Safdie brother now, but the intensity was just like Uncut Gems and Good Time, so its just a non stop ride from start to finish. And I very much enjoyed that ride.

I guess I am the only one who watched the Oscars last night.

Conan O'Brien did a good job as host. The opening bit was fantastic lol

Rare year where I had actually seen a good portion of the films.

Watched 'The Substance" with Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley.

That one's gonna stick with me lol

That is an experience for sure. Still not sure if it was a good or bad experience for me... lol

Just come back from a special screening of Project Hail Mary.

One of the best movies I've seen in recent years. Visually stunning, hits all the right notes, there's wonder, sadness, thrill, albeit a bit overloaded score-wise – and slightly too long for my liking, at 2,5 hours, with an ending that drags on more than it should.

Still, highly recommended. Ryan Gosling in Space, more or less on his own... or is he?

I went on Saturday and loved it too! I really think they nailed the humour as well, which could easily have got far too cringe.

Just finished reading Project hail mary and now insanely excited for the movie coming out on the 20th.

Yeh I'd read it too, but we went as a group with most having not read it and they seemed to enjoy it just as much. So I think it's one to please the audience regardless.

Only thing I'd say to peple who haven't read the book, is to not watch the trailer. Reveals too mcuh for me.

I watched Project Hail Mary at the weekend and had mixed feelings about it.

They probably did as well as they could with it given the running time, yet there was still plenty they had to leave out. It's a difficult book to adapt IMO given it's pretty much all flashbacks and then just Gosling on his own (mostly).

I imagine with the success of The Martian and PHM they will definitely be working on a screenplay for Artemis, especially since the main character is a young Muslim woman in her twenties. It's more adaptable too as it's basically a heist movie which naturally lends itself more cinematically.

I did too! Seemed to have some sound issues on the ITV stream so some gags didn't land. Loved the Bridesmaid reunion though lol

Pretty much agreed with most of the awards; Amy Madigan was insanely good as Gladys and her win was so wholesome, though I was a bit gutted for Wunmi Mosaku losing out; she was incredible. While I loved OBAA I did think Sinners deserved some more of the 'top' awards. Coogler especially - he's had an incredible career so far and what he achieved with Sinners on screen and off is such a positive move for the industry. His deal with WB to make it is genuinely pioneering in an unstable era for the industry. Anyone who loves movies or is a creative and part of the industry should be watching his career flourish very carefully.

I've done a reverse move:

After seeing Project Hail Mary and the praise for the source material, I've now downloaded the audio book. 20 hours of material, get in.

Also helps when you get a free Audible trial.

Is Project Hail Mary good? I loved the book, so intrigued as to how they've done with the film.

Yes.

If you've read the book, you will miss many elements, though. But you can only pack so much into a movie. And I think it's already slightly too long at 2,5 hours.

Great, thanks. Looking forward to seeing it. I also love long films so shouldn't be an issue!

I agree. When I read the book, I lost my mind at the "Blip-A" part. It's kinda crap that they've ruined that.
