Daggers Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 I've just seen the tele - did anyone else notice how easy we were shrugged off the ball? Pathetic. I think I am more angry today than I ever was yesterday.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 I've just seen the tele - did anyone else notice how easy we were shrugged off the ball? Pathetic. I think I am more angry today than I ever was yesterday. That defending was disgusting. McAuley for the third and Kisnorbo and Stearman for the fourth - shocking errors. McCarthy's challenge looked fairly innocuous to me but you could tell Styles was dying to produce the red card.
Foxy1984 Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 How much space did we want to give them!!?!?! And some allowing loose balls to come to them... just not on.

McCarthy's challenge looked fairly innocuous to me but you could tell Styles was dying to produce the red card. Yes just seen it again too - very sloppy defending. I don't know what's happened to our defence but all of a sudden they're having a complete nightmare. At the start of the season they were rock solid. What's gone wrong? We've also been weak and far too easily knocked off of the ball for a long time now, with Hughes being the main culprit. However, having said that, watching the replay on the TV has confirmed that the ref was a disgrace. Josh Low clearly went for the ball and didn't even know the Wednesday player was coming in behind him. To be honest I think their player just ran into him and made the most of the opportunity to con the ref. Dreadful. The Paddy McCarthy incident was even worse. The Wednesday player kicked the ball forward and then deliberately ran into Paddy without making any effort to chase the ball. The ridiculous dive that followed was as obvious an attempt to get Paddy sent off as you'll ever see. Pathetic. And finally, although McAuley's control was absolutely appalling, the Wednesday player just blatently bodychecks him - and the ball was yards away! As with Disco Bob, I'm even more angry now.
Webbo Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 All people that were there you can't 100% blame RK, Afterall didn't the referee have a key part in there first 2 goals? I don't 100% blame RK but how many times can we blame badluck/bad decisions. this club is dying on its arse something (i'm not sure what) has to change. By the way , i thought dangerous play was an indirect free kick.
The People's Hero Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Just back from an extremely busy couple of days, only seen the scoreline... Has RK trundled out the line about it all being due to dodgy decisions, how everyone is against us and that we'll be redoubling our efforts on the training ground (again) yet?

The People's Hero Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 I see. We lost 4-1 due to wonderstrikes you wouldn't see every week. So why are we losing every week then Rob? Tart.

Straight from the Levein book of quotes that RK found in his office after CL's hasty retreat. PS I'm sure Levein will want it back soon.
Wils Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Im not sure if anyone has already mentioned it because i cannot be botherd to read through all seven pages...but shouldnt it have been an in-direct free kick in the box for high foot rather than a penalty?

I thought this at the time. As i have passed my refereeing course I should probably know this...But I don't. Maybe he gave it for something else ? He wasn't the most consistant referee unless you think he was consistently sh!t.

Kisnorbo has a copy: "The Owls result was another bad one, but I think we played a hell of a lot better on the day. Paddy McCarthy's dismissal set us back, but the goals Wednesday scored were just too good for us. It's a nightmare when you see three screamers like that go in while you're playing well with ten men. I saw Brian Laws admit three of their goals were the best he's seen for some time. The gaffer was positive after the match. No-one at the club accepts losing 4-1 at Walkers stadium, believe me, but those goals, well, you'd be lucky to see three in one season - never mind in one game!" http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=20391

leeleic Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Utter, Utter Bullsh!t. This clubs falling to pieces. No-one seems to want to play for the city colours, apart from maybe a few exceptions, Humey and strearman. The rest of em, bollox!
The People's Hero Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Untrue. They will ALL be redoubling their efforts on the training pitch. Again.
Kilworthfox Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Untrue. They will ALL be redoubling their efforts on the training pitch. Again. Brilliant so we are redoubling after Norwich and again redoubling after Sheff wed buy the time Barnsley come to town we should have our times table mastered 2-4-6-8 who do we appreciate...... or is it 2-4-8-16-32 etc? what a joker get 3 points and stop all this jabbering on training , redoubling efforts, balderdash get on with it!
The People's Hero Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 I think you're missing the point. All the while we have a complex about 'great goals against us', a chip on our shoulder about refereeing and a contingency plan (ie a willingness to redouble our efforts on training ground), it really doesn't matter if we get any points or not. It's all about image, excuses and spin.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Redoubling is a bit like a u-turn in Kelly's book I think. So really we're going at it doubly hard one week, then half as hard the next week. The plan is that we're going to come all over Barnsley's face.
The People's Hero Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 And them beat them? Is this the cum on a woman's face and then beat them routine, transferred to the football pitch? Nice one RK.

shiv Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 all i can say is get on with the fookin takeover and stop pissin about shareholders
Dantheowl Posted 3 December 2006 Posted 3 December 2006 Yesterday's penalty, have to say it very very dodgy penalty, felt sorry for you abit. Very minimal contact and a very harsh decision but to tbh it didn't matter in the end.

No but it changed the whole balance of the game from two shitty teams with us being slightly less so to you brimming with confidence and us chasing the game as well has having a couple of angry gung ho players, one of which ended being sent off. So in the end no but in the beginning a massive impact. What it did demonstrate is that a key difference between success and failure in this league is confidence and belief.

Refs make mistakes like this all the time, mainly with obstruction offenses. I think Mr Styles should of been asked to explain the penalty.

Looking at the replay I'm not even sure the boot hit him, it looked like he ran into the back/side of Low, there's even an argument to say it was a foul on Low as their guy got there late. PS He should also be asked on what basis he gave the corner!
