Players-Incoming & Outgoing for the Close Season

Recommended Posts

Do you know much about that Febian Brandy? Looks quality, but no way near the finished article. I think we should get him in the summer.

Not much, I know how old he is and thats about it. seen patches of him playing but not enough to form a decent opinion.

He's rapid, but very small. Might be a problem given the midgets we have already in our squad.

I doubt we'll be signing any youth team players on loan TBH, our youth teams supposidly one of the best in the country anyway if you believe half the shit you read on here. We may as well develop our own talent.

I wonder whether any team has took a youngster on loan from another club and then played them in their academy all season?! lol

You'd be well pissed off

Possibly a bit of both.

I would be very surprised if Mandaric hasn't already had contact with Chris Coleman about the job, he's one of the best managers out of work at the minute.

One thing doesnt convince me is how he will deal with MM's policy of signing players, which (you said) is based on buying skewed bargains.

Cambridge United striker Robbie Simpson has warned his Championship suitors he will not be rushed into a decision on his future.

Simpson has been in tremendous form in the Conference this season and has reportedly caught the eye of Norwich City, Ipswich Town and Leicester City.

Cambridge boss Jimmy Quinn is determined to keep Simpson but the player admits he is flattered to be linked with the trio of Championship clubs.

He is nevertheless staying focused on Cambridge's relegation battle and his studies at Loughborough University.

"I just want to play football and become as good as I can be and fulfil my potential, and being at a Championship club would improve me as a player," Simpson, who was rejected by Norwich as a teenager, told the Eastern Daily Press.

"But I have to think of what is going to be the best move for me and my football career.

"Cambridge United have made their intentions clear, that they want to keep me and make me a feature of their team and get promotion, but obviously it is the possibility of Championship football we are talking about."

Ipswich boss Jim Magilton has admitted his interest in Simpson and he concedes he will have a lot to think about in the summer, when he is out of contract.

"There are a lot of ifs and buts and I have to consider them all," he explained.

"Yes, I am studying at University, but all my life I have wanted to be a top footballer and I have worked my hardest to do that from the very beginning. I definitely want to play at a higher level.

"But will I get to play? I have not spoken to those clubs - what do they want from me?

"Jim Magilton's comments are very flattering and I know I will have a decision to make.

"They are three major Championship clubs and it will take some serious thinking on my part."

I'm not one for rumours really (as my lack of posting in this thread shows) but my housemate, a Cambridge fan, told me the rumour about Robbie Simpson (and apparently it's been on SSN).

If there is any truth in it then I wonder who has shown interest on our behalf...seeing as we don't have a manager yet. The more rumours like this that start coming up the more it will seem like Worth has the job or someone else has already been told they've got it and started working.

Not so much as a rumour just adding 2 + 2 and coming up with Richard Wright! Out of contract in the summer, 29, and dare I say better than either keeper we have. Linked with a move back to Ipswich so maybe the Championship isn't out of the realms of possibility for him...

Found this quite amusing...

From a well known Rumours site.

Leicester city rumours Danny Murphy rumour is a possiblilty for 1. 25 mill Lee trundle is being looked at as Leicester wish to bolster there attacking options Walcott is not coming onloan however jarret will sign permanetly excuse spelling with stefanovic from Portsmouth looks set to be certain to come in and to be made captain if McCarthy leaves for Rangers which now looks unlikely. either coleman, ince and possibly Worthington as mandaric has praised him will be made manager more then likely coleman will be in the hotseat next season he will bring in radzinski watch 90% of these unfold pre season

100% true Leicester City have held talks with Chirs Coleman over the vaccant job at the Walkers. Milan is said to be very keen on Chris and will offer him a 3year contract. Expect Coleman to be unveiled to the press the 1st week after the season is over. Paul Ince was offered a meeting but turned it down as he wants to concentrate on his team for the moment. Worthington feels that he could not do what is expected from Milan and will be more then happy to let Coleman take the job. Coleman, however, could ask Worthington too be part of his back room staff. Pappa Dioup could be on his way to the Walkers with Luke Varney (a die hard fan of Leicester) Also expect Francis Jeffers to join the club with at least 16 players leaving the Walkers this summer. Some names include Hughes, Douglas and Stearman. Hammond will remain at the club when Coleman takes over due to the Fulham connection. Milan is going to give Coleman a kitty of at least £10 million. The future looks good for a Leicester fan

I don't think thats too unrealistic, especially as he is he will be out of contract.

I am not even gonna begin to pick holes in the second rumour!!!!

Can you imagine the conversation between Milan and Big Nige?

Milan: "Nigel, I'm impressed with the response from the players over the last couple of weeks and would like to offer you the job?"

Big Nige: "I don't feel I am up to the job Milan but I would be more than happy for you to appoint Chris Coleman. Can you have a word and see if I can get a job cleaning out the showers arfter match days? That's more my level!"

Birmingham manager Steve Bruce is desperately looking for a new striker as Nicklas Bendtner is returning to Arsenal. His prime target is Leicester City striker Elvis Hammond. Bruce thinks Hammond's lightning pace will cause a lot of problems next season in the Premiership. He was also impressed with Hammond's performance and goal against Birmingham earlier this season.

Own up
