blue blood Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 sister bought 1, waiting for delivery will advise once ive tested it.
Alexikokopops Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 I've got one, it's not perfect quality but if you chose a decent frequency it's good. It's no worst than one of those tape jobbies anyway. I have the Griffen one, called the iTrip.
Phube Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 I've just asked my Dad for one for my birthday (yes 28 and still getting pressies from my parents!!). I've heard mixed (Amazon) reviewws for the iTrip. So I'm going for the Belkin one Here. It seems to have better feedback! Also I believe they'll be good in Leicester, but a bit poo in London where every available frequency is already taken up!
lildave3 Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 My uncle has got one in his car and it's perfect. Just plug it in and away you go. The sounds just as it always is.
Strokes Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 I have one, decentish quality, just like listening to the radio really.
hairy Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 I had a similar thing that connected a multi disc player to the radio a few years ago. It was rubbish as it kept poping and crackling all the time. Something that I would like to know is if you pulled up at the lights next to someone with a similar system on the same band do you listen to their music, yours or just a load of interference.
Wils Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 My Girlfreinds got one they seem quite good. Better than changing cd's every 5 minutes and they get damaged.
AoWW Posted 28 March 2007 Posted 28 March 2007 I've just got one but haven't yet had the time to fiddle around with it. Will give it a go this weekend and let you know what I think.

Poakey Posted 28 March 2007 Author Posted 28 March 2007 The reveiws for the kensington one look good but its abit pricey.

I just bought the iTrip today and I was surprised by how well it works, considering that I have the Griffin PowerBlock and it's a complete piece of crap.
lildave3 Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 I have an iTrip, thanks to Alex. Mine doesn't appear to be as good as his though, is it quality of the stereo? Or because my iPod is older. Meanwhile, my battery on my actual iPod is very close to being ****ed. Doesn't last long at all. How do I go about changing this? Or is just only a possibility by buying a new iPod?

There are people out there who will do that quite cheap(ish)... depending on what Gen your Ipod is you will prob be best of getting a upgrade... Ebay are selling 5th Gen Video Ipods are resonable prices.

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 I had one - pain to set up, sound quality crap, and if you don't have space to put two small electronic things and wires then it's very awkard to put anywhere. If the car stereo has an AUX port I beleive you can plug in the I-POD through there - but these are normally at the back of a stereo which means you have to do something like put a hole in the back of your glove box to feed it through. (Also Alpine seem to do decent link up kits for I-PODS, but they cost a bit last time i looked.) I wish I bought a stereo with a USB port now - anyone got one of these?

Tommeh Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 I've just got a £10 lead which goes into my CD player sound quality is great although changing songs whilst driving is not advisable!
Daggers Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 I had one from Asda - it was absolute crap so I took it back. I spent hours (well, a lot of minutes) chopping and changing FM bands all to no avail. Sod it - I'll burn compilation disks...that's way more fun.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 I bought a transmitter from Sainsbury's on Belgrave Road. Got a refund 3 mins later. Absolutely atrocious. Granted, it was 15 quid or so, but still terrible in my eyes. I also had an Alpine 9850 headunit with a proper ipod connection. This was fckuing shit for the simple fact that it took about 4 mins to get from the artists begining with 'A' to 'B'! I've got 67 gigs worth of music on my ipod...I could have driven to Manchester by the time I found Nine Inch Nails on my ipod!! In the end I used to disconnect the ipod, search for what artist and reconnect the ipod. Sort of defeated the object of safe driving though. I want to use my ipod in my current car, but I think I'll ruin the look if I add an aftermarket headunit. Looks like I'll have to ruin the looks methinks.
