DB11 Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 He and Kisnorbo are both still under contract and we do not need to sell them now we have MM. The only way that either of them would go is if a big club came in and they asked to be sold (eg. they want to play in a higher league)
Stevosevic Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 I think Hume is one of few players who should be applauded for his efforts this season. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...ers/default.stm The Coca-Cola Football League Championship Top Scorers Team TOT Chopra Cardiff 21 Cureton Colchester 21 Kamara West Brom 20 Rasiak Southampton 18 Earnshaw Norwich 17 Iwelumo Colchester 17 Howard Derby 16 Lee Ipswich 15 McSheffrey Birmingham 14 Nugent Preston 14 Phillips West Brom 13 Vine Birmingham 13 Blackstock QPR 12 Burton Sheff Wed 12 Hume Leicester 12 For a player thats isnt a goalscorer and playing in a poor side, hes done well. The likes of Nugent and McSheffrey have scored just two more, i am in no way suggesting he is as good as them, but proves hes done alright.

SystonFox Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 Tempting and good price prob why would he move to us? he's getting on a bit i think and he's like a huge fish in a small pond down there. also hes only had 1 good season at this level so i wouldnt say he is good enough for promotion chasing LCFC.
Manwell Pablo Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 why would he move to us? he's getting on a bit i think and he's like a huge fish in a small pond down there. also hes only had 1 good season at this level so i wouldnt say he is good enough for promotion chasing LCFC. He's not getting on, he's old, and tempremental. When he's finds himself under pressure he folds big time. Big club like this wouldn't suit him.
Geo V Posted 14 April 2007 Posted 14 April 2007 He and Kisnorbo are both still under contract and we do not need to sell them now we have MM. The only way that either of them would go is if a big club came in and they asked to be sold (eg. they want to play in a higher league) Contracts arent worth the contracts they are written on these days. If a player is worth £5m and refuses to play, he may do a Van Hooidonk and go missing. All a club can do is fine him his wages if he goes AWOL. All that then happens is that your £5m player ends up being worth much less as he rots away and it disrupts the whole squad when someone says he doesnt want to play for a club anymore. There is little a club can do but sell the player concerned IMO. I blame Jimmy Hill for this mess and in particular, his chin.
a-fox Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 wot did hume say to the fans at the bottom of L1 on sat when he was about to take a throw in.
Geo V Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 wot did hume say to the fans at the bottom of L1 on sat when he was about to take a throw in. "Im off to Fulham"
legend Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 its not exactly a prem team will enquire bout him, he isnt prolific n nowadays, teams like players who score week in week out
Wezleylowski Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 wot did hume say to the fans at the bottom of L1 on sat when he was about to take a throw in. Someone was calling the lino a "fat bastard" and Hume turned around and lifted his shirt up and said "what me" i think
Geo V Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 its not exactly a prem team will enquire bout him, he isnt prolific n nowadays, teams like players who score week in week out There arent many about mate. Just look at Sheff Utd spending £2m on Stead despite his poor scoring record. Watford are scraping the barrell with the likes of Priskin and Kabba. Hume IMO is as good as them and he hasnt played at that level with better players. If he does, again IMO he will be better than the likes of those I have stated and will score more goals than someone like Cottee did for us in the top division.
BartonFox Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 Hume is League One, which is a plus because we'll all be there in a few weeks
Bryn Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 That Priskin looked a tidy player in the FA Cup yesterday. Kabba is pretty poor though.
act smiley Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 Hume is League One, which is a plus because we'll all be there in a few weeks Nah, Hume is definitely championship material, its the rest of the team which isn't
Master Fox Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 Hume is League One, which is a plus because we'll all be there in a few weeks Agreed. He's been so over rated. The same applies to Fryatt
Foxes 2 da grave Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 Hume is the only player that is worth his wages in the team at the minute. I think we have missed Fryatt this season also.
Koke Posted 15 April 2007 Posted 15 April 2007 Sometimes you can see the look on Hume's face which says "Fock it, why bother with this crap" -- I feel sorry him as he is working his socks off while his team-mates are collecting wages for doing fock all.

Agree with that 100 p.c.He must have a bad back from carrying the rest of the midfield(even though he's not suposed to be playing there!)
Ric Flair Posted 16 April 2007 Posted 16 April 2007 If Hume is only League One standard then why is he the 22nd best player in the league this season then? And that's in a team that's fookin pony. He might be over-rated by some, but the stats speak for themselves. He's 22nd best out of about 450+ players in this division this season. I'm really keen for us to get our hands on the 450th.

Ric Flair Posted 16 April 2007 Posted 16 April 2007 That's 22nd best striker isn't it? not 22nd best player. It's 22nd best player in the whole league.
Milky Posted 16 April 2007 Posted 16 April 2007 It's 22nd best player in the whole league. sorry, my mistake. That's quite a suprising stat actually.
Ric Flair Posted 16 April 2007 Posted 16 April 2007 sorry, my mistake. That's quite a suprising stat actually. Isn't it just. I imagine there will be a few who proclaim the stats to be utter bollocks. But if they were utter bollocks then they wouldn't still be used each season. He's certainly 1 of only a few players i'd keep. In a good team I think he could be excellent at this level and far more consistent than he is, which is his big weakness I think.
Steven Posted 16 April 2007 Posted 16 April 2007 It's 22nd best player in the whole league. As what? He is not an out and out striker and we have never used him as an attacking midfielder. 22nd best player but to what net effect? :dunno:
