What a sh1tshow today. If we do limp to promotion, next season could be like City's 2024/25 PL season, judging by recent performances.

Hardly going to limp to promotion and Derby scoring 33 off 19 overs don't look.like they are even trying to win.

Them other games both would need contrived finishes to force a result now. Be annoying if one of them do get a result.

We could potentially be beneficiaries of that, if the weather holds.

Is the prize money significantly different between each division?

Even if finishing in the lower levels of Div 1, is it markedly different to Div 2?

Posted this back in May:

"Last season in Division 1, the top three picked up £600k (Surrey), £300k and £200k respectively. I can't find any other recent figures covering both divisions aside from 2022's - County Championship - total prize-money: £1.5million Winners £580,000 Runners-up £290,000 Third £145,000 The two relegated teams don’t get any prize-money. Div 2 Champions and runners-up get £65k and £58k respectively."

Might be better off asking to stay where we are and winning division 2 again 😄

wild take, T20 and One day performances don't correlate to our sparkling county champ form

Cmon lads, some early wickets make them question there game plan. Keep it tight get through overs quickly

Although seeing batting looking easy might me more preferable.  I’d be more scared seeing them 20-4 right now.

Yes they’ve got nothing to lose as such being aggressive and putting pressure on us. They also know we won’t fancy a nasty few hours batting with max pressure on us. I was hoping heavy rain would come earlier and make this a stress free draw lol

Quite a sporting declaration but I’m

quite bad at this sort of thing as a relatively new cricket fan

Gloucestershire's to lose really. Realistcally we are not going to get 316, the declaration is abit of a sweet sport really meaning they can’t really lose and have maximum time to bowl at us. We messed this up yesterday really with our collapse. Get another 60

on thr board then it’s a different game. This one is done I think

There will be plenty of bad balls. Wait for them. Defend the good balls, and see where we are in a couple of hours. Keep it as simple as possible

And Budinger slashes a wide one to third man. He does not appear to have great cricketing intelligence

It’s a good declaration, but I think we just play sensibly for the first couple of hours and see how we’re going. It’s for others to make all the running. The team have done the hard work to get to this place.
